MORE THAN A MEDAL 🎓

After spending around six hours at a graduation and completion ceremony, a group of young graduates in General Santos City were already tired and hungry themselves—but they still made room at the table for someone who needed a meal.
The moment was captured by netizen Regine Arceo Sonsona on August 12, 2026, after the ceremony at HTC Trinidad Complex.
Sonsona said she did not personally know the young people, although they had attended the same program. What caught her attention was their decision to help an elderly man asking for alms along the street and to share their food with him.
The simple gesture quickly earned praise online.
What made the scene meaningful was not the size of what they gave, but the timing. After hours of waiting, ceremonies, and exhaustion, the graduates could have simply gone home and eaten. Instead, they chose to share first.
Graduation often celebrates what students have learned inside the classroom. In this case, one of the most memorable lessons came afterward—through empathy, generosity, and the willingness to notice someone in need.
