February 26 โ€“ SJWIS celebrated the third day of its 28th Foundation Week with Pet Day where students showcased their pets and learned about responsible pet ownership from veterinary guest speakers Dr. Tan and Dr. Peteros.

The event was joined by the guests from the City Veterinary Team, including Dr. Billy Jane M. Tan (Meat Control Officer II, Veterinarian), Dr. Louie Mar Peteros (Veterinarian II), Mr. Muriel S. Tindugan (Livestock Inspector II), Mr. John Ryan R. Lauce (Meat Inspector I), and Mr. Renz Marcial M. Urminita (Meat Inspector I).

Dr. Tan discussed important factors to consider when adopting a pet and also gave advice on how to properly take care of them. Meanwhile, Dr. Peteros talked about the importance of pet health and vaccinations, including deworming, 5-in-1 vaccine, and anti-rabies vaccine.

After the discussion, the pet owners proudly introduced their pets featuring dogs, cats, parrots, rabbits, and a guinea pig to the audience and gave them a chance to play and interact with other animals in the petsโ€™ playing area.

A free pet vaccination service from the City Veterinary Team was also provided to ensure the pets' health and well-being.
