My house is loud
My house is chaotic
My house looks like a toy store exploded most days

And I’m not sorry for it

Because one day it won’t be
One day the floors will be clean and quiet
The shoes won’t pile by the door
The couch cushions won’t be forts
The kitchen won’t echo with shrieks and giggles and snack raids

So no, I won’t apologize for the mess
Or the noise
Or the wild energy that fills these walls

Because that chaos?
It means my kids are here
It means they’re growing, exploring, living life with every loud, messy, beautiful breath

And I’ll take that over spotless floors any damn day.
