(BCCUI) was founded on July 20, 1964. Fr. John Tielen with other 14 parochial leaders having an initial capital of Php.625.00. In 1976, the consumer store or Kilusang Bayan sa Pamimili was added to its services and later on was consolidated to form Barbaza Multi-Purpose Cooperative and was registered with the CDA on September 11, 1992. Cable TV was launched on January 18, 1998 in addition to its s

ervices which paved the way to expand its membership to other towns. Culasi branch was opened las March 2004, Sibalom branch on July 2007, San Jose branch on September 2008, Balasan branch on August 2010, Barotac Viejo on September 2012, Caticlan on July 2013, Molo branch on May 2014, Kalibo branch on 2015 and Janiuay Branch last 2019. These branches offered lending, depositing, mortuary services for the benefit of the members. To continually improve its services, BMPC affiliated with Antique Federation of Credit Cooperatives, Inc. (AFCCUI), Visayas Cooperative Development Center (VICTO), and National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) for trainings, technical, financial assistance and linkaging. Guided by its vision, mission and adopting COOP-PESOS Standards, BMPC, a multi-awarded coop, is paving the way towards transforming and empowering the community – the reason for its birth.

To mark this meaningful milestone, the branch has prepared a series of activities both within the office and for the community. The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass as a gesture of gratitude, followed by free haircut services and food-sharing activities, all aimed at giving back to our valued members and the wider community.

Barbaza Multi-Purpose Cooperative, in partnership with COOP-NATCCO Partylist, continues to uphold its mission of serving every sector of the community with meaningful and sustainable support.

Recently, Barbaza MPC turned over 50 wooden study armchairs to Governor Julian Fullon Pacificador National School in Funda, Hamtic, Antique in response to the school’s need for improved learning facilities.

Recognizing that quality education begins with a conducive learning environment, Barbaza MPC made this donation as part of its commitment to empower the youth.

The cooperative remains dedicated to reaching every corner of its service area. Through education, livelihood, and social initiatives, Barbaza MPC will continue to provide services that uplift the lives of its members and the broader community.
