𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗢𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗘 — Isang makasaysayang tagumpay ang naitala ni Josh Gabriel Salcedo, estudyante ng Antique Vocational School at tubong Valderrama, Antique, matapos niyang basagin ang dating record sa 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄 (𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻) sa ginaganap na Palarong Pambansa 2025.

Nakamit ni Salcedo ang gintong medalya sa pamamagitan ng kanyang malakas na paghagis na umabot sa 𝟰𝟱.𝟱𝟮 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼, ang bagong pinakamataas na marka sa nasabing kategorya.

Ang tagumpay na ito ay patunay ng patuloy na pag-angat ng mga atletang Antiqueño sa larangan ng pampalakasan sa buong bansa.

Pope Francis, the 266th leader of the Roman Catholic Church, has died at the age of 88. The Vatican confirmed his death early Monday morning, April 21, 2025, following complications from chronic lung disease and double pneumonia. Despite his declining health, he made a final public appearance on Easter Sunday, greeting the faithful from a wheelchair and blessing the crowd in St. Peter’s Square .

𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗼𝘀, 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮

Sa pagtatapos ng banal na buwan ng Ramadan, isang panibagong kabanata ng kagalakan, pasasalamat, at pagkakaisa ang bumubukas para sa ating mga kapatid na Muslim sa buong mundo. Ang Eid al-Fitr ay hindi lamang isang pagdiriwang ng pagtatapos ng pag-aayuno kundi isang pagpapatibay ng pananampalataya, pagpapakumbaba, at pagmamahal sa kapwa. Ito ay isang mahalagang araw na sumasalamin sa mga aral ng Ramadan, ang pagdidisiplina sa sarili, ang pagpapalalim ng pananampalataya, at ang pagbibigay ng tulong sa mga nangangailangan.

Sa loob ng isang buwang sakripisyo, pananalangin, at pagninilay, natutunan ng bawat isa ang tunay na halaga ng pagtitiis at pagkakawanggawa. Ang Ramadan ay hindi lamang isang pisikal na pagsubok kundi isang espirituwal na paglalakbay na naglalayong linisin ang puso at palakasin ang ugnayan sa Diyos. Sa pamamagitan ng pag-aayuno, natutunan natin ang halaga ng tiyaga at sakripisyo, habang ang pananalangin at pagbasa ng Qur’an ay nagpapalalim sa ating pananampalataya. Ang pagbibigay ng Zakat al-Fitr, na isang mahalagang bahagi ng Eid, ay sumisimbolo sa diwa ng pagbibigayan, isang paraan upang matulungan ang mga mas nangangailangan at upang mapanatili ang pagkakapantay-pantay sa lipunan.

Ngayong dumating na ang Eid, ito ang panahon upang ipagdiwang ang tagumpay ng disiplina at espirituwal na paglago. Sa bawat masayang pagsasalo-salo ng pamilya, sa bawat yakap ng pagbati, at sa bawat pagbibigay ng Zakat al-Fitr para sa nangangailangan, ating naipapakita ang diwa ng Eid, ang diwa ng pagmamahal at pagbibigayan. Sa araw na ito, nagtitipon ang mga Muslim sa buong mundo upang mag-alay ng panalangin sa masjid, magsuot ng kanilang pinakamagagandang kasuotan, at magsalo-salo sa masasarap na pagkain na sumasalamin sa kasaganaan at biyayang natanggap mula sa Diyos.

Subalit, higit pa sa kasayahan at pagkain, ang Eid al-Fitr ay isang paalala na ang ating pananampalataya at mabubuting gawain ay hindi natatapos sa Ramadan. Ang pagsasakripisyo para sa iba, ang pagtulong sa nangangailangan, at ang pagiging mapagpakumbaba ay hindi lamang dapat isinasabuhay sa loob ng isang buwan kundi dapat magpatuloy sa ating pang-araw-araw na buhay. Sa pamamagitan ng patuloy na paggawa ng mabuti, mapapalalim natin ang ating ugnayan sa Diyos at mas mapapalakas ang ating komunidad.

Habang tayo ay nagdiriwang, nawa’y ating ipagpatuloy ang mga mabubuting aral na natutunan sa Ramadan. Sa ating mga kapatid na Muslim, Eid Mubarak! Nawa’y pagpalain kayo ng kapayapaan, kasaganaan, at walang hanggang biyaya. Mula sa inyong mga kaibigan at kapwa Pilipino, isang taos-pusong pagbati ng masayang Eid al-Fitr!

Tuwing ika-1 ng Abril, isang espesyal na araw ng kasiyahan at sorpresa ang ipinagdiriwang sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo. Ang April Fool’s Day ay isang pagkakataon upang ipakita ang ating pagkamalikhain, pagiging mapagbiro, at pagmamahal sa tawanan. Sa araw na ito, puno ng sigla at masasayang sandali ang ating paligid, kung saan ang bawat isa ay may pagkakataong magdala ng ngiti sa mukha ng iba.

Isa sa pinakamagandang aspeto ng April Fool’s Day ay ang pagiging bukas ng lahat sa kasayahan. Sa pamamagitan ng mga nakakaaliw na biro, mas nagiging masaya at makulay ang ating mga interaksyon sa pamilya, kaibigan, at maging sa ating mga kakilala. Ang simpleng panunukso na may halong lambing o ang malikhaing prank na nagbibigay ng saya ay nagiging paraan upang lalong mapatatag ang ating samahan sa isa’t isa.

Bagamat hindi tiyak ang pinagmulan ng April Fool’s Day, matagal na itong bahagi ng kultura ng iba’t ibang bansa. Isa itong selebrasyon ng saya at pagiging masayahin, na nagpapakita ng kahalagahan ng pagbibigay ng good vibes sa ating kapwa. Ang tradisyong ito ay isang paalala na sa kabila ng ating mga gawain at responsibilidad, mahalagang magkaroon ng sandali para tumawa at mag-enjoy.

Sa panahon ngayon, ang April Fool’s Day ay nagiging mas malikhain sa tulong ng teknolohiya. Maraming kumpanya at personalidad ang nakikibahagi sa kasayahan sa pamamagitan ng nakakatuwang anunsyo, palabas, at iba pang malikhaing paraan upang magdala ng saya sa madla. Sa social media, marami ang nagbabahagi ng mga nakakaaliw na kwento at kwelang ideya na nagpapalaganap ng good vibes sa buong mundo.

𝘐𝘭𝘰𝘪𝘭𝘰 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 – 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 29, 2025 –𝗕𝗲𝗮 𝗘. 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗼, a student from Patria National High School, emerged victorious in the Column Writing (Filipino) category during the 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗥𝗦𝗣𝗖) held in Iloilo City last March 29, 2025.

Alongside her, Eda Jemina S. Jacosalem also participated in the same contest category, showcasing her writing skills. The two students, under the guidance of their coaches, Mrs. Loren A. Ilao and Mr. Christian F. Barrientos, were able to bring honor to their school through their outstanding performance in this prestigious competition.

Beriso’s triumph in the RSPC marks a significant achievement for both the student and her mentors, further proving the strength of their training and dedication to excellence in the field of journalism. Their remarkable teamwork and perseverance were reflected in their impressive work, earning them recognition among the region's best student journalists.

The RSPC serves as an avenue for students to showcase their writing skills and compete at a higher level, and Bea E. Beriso’s victory in the Filipino column writing category adds to the growing list of achievements for her school and coaches.

Bea E. Beriso and Eda Jemina S. Jacosalem of Patria National High School are all set to represent their school at the 2025 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) in Iloilo City tomorrow, March 29, 2025. The two student journalists, accompanied by their coaches — Mrs. Loren A. Ilao for Bea and Mr. Christian F. Barrientos for Eda — will leave today for Iloilo City, where they will compete against top student journalists from the region in the column writing category.

Both Bea and Eda expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support they’ve received from their loving parents, as well as from the school administration, faculty, and staff. Their financial support and encouragement have played a vital role in making this opportunity possible.

“We are so thankful to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey,” said Bea E. Beriso. Eda Jemina S. Jacosalem also shared her appreciation, saying, “We couldn’t have done it without the support of our coaches, our families, and our school.”

The students are excited to showcase their skills and learn from their peers at the prestigious event, marking an important milestone in their journalistic careers.

𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 26, 2025 – Patria National High School took a proactive step toward environmental responsibility today by organizing a clean-up drive, spearheaded by Ma’am Amabelle I. Esteban, the coordinator of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), and Ma’am Mary Ann R. Dela Torre, the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) coordinator.

The initiative gathered an enthusiastic group of participants, including YES-O officers, YES-O members, SDRRM officers, Supreme Student Government (SSLG) officers, Grade 7 Orchid and Grade 9 Lemon students. Together, they worked tirelessly to clear waste, remove debris, and promote proper waste management around the school premises.

The event concluded successfully, leaving the school cleaner and the students more motivated to continue advocating for environmental conservation. The school administration, along with the coordinators, expressed their gratitude to all participants and encouraged everyone to maintain the cleanliness of their surroundings beyond the event.

With its commitment to environmental sustainability, Patria National High School continues to set an example for both students and the community, proving that small actions can lead to a big impact.

Ang kagubatan ay isang mahalagang yaman ng kalikasan na may malalim na epekto sa ating buhay at sa balanse ng ating ecosystem. Sa bawat kagubatan, matatagpuan ang isang masalimuot na sistema ng mga halaman, hayop, at iba pang organismong nagtutulungan upang mapanatili ang kalikasan. Ngunit, sa kabila ng kahalagahan nito, patuloy na nanganganib ang mga kagubatan sa buong mundo dulot ng deforestasyon at iba pang mga salik ng pagkasira ng kalikasan.

Isa sa mga pangunahing kahalagahan ng kagubatan ay ang pagiging tahanan nito ng maraming uri ng mga hayop at halaman. Ang kagubatan ay nagsisilbing isang malaking imbakan ng biodiversity o pagkakaiba-iba ng mga buhay na organismo. Mula sa maliliit na insekto hanggang sa malalaking hayop, ang mga kagubatan ang nagbibigay ng kanlungan at pagkain sa mga nilalang na ito. Kung mawawala ang kagubatan, malaki ang epekto nito sa mga ecosystem at magiging sanhi ng pagkaubos ng mga uri ng hayop at halaman.

Ang kagubatan ay isang mahalagang bahagi ng pag-regulate ng klima. Ang mga puno at halaman ay kumukuha ng carbon dioxide mula sa atmospera at naglalabas ng oxygen na mahalaga sa kalikasan. Ang mga kagubatan, lalo na ang mga tropical na kagubatan, ay nag-aambag sa pagpapababa ng antas ng greenhouse gases sa atmospera. Ang pagkasira ng mga kagubatan ay maaaring magdulot ng mas malalang epekto ng climate change, tulad ng mas matinding pag-init ng mundo at pagbabago sa mga panahon ng ulan.

Ang mga ugat ng mga puno sa kagubatan ay tumutulong upang panatilihing matatag ang lupa. Sa pamamagitan ng mga ugat na ito, naiiwasan ang pagguho ng lupa na maaaring magdulot ng landslides at pagbaha. Kapag nawala ang mga kagubatan, ang lupa ay nagiging mas madaling magka-erode, na nagiging sanhi ng malalaking pagbaha at pagkasira ng mga komunidad.

Ang kagubatan ay isang mahalagang pinagkukunan ng mga likas na yaman na ginagamit sa araw-araw na buhay ng tao. Ang kahoy mula sa kagubatan ay ginagamit sa paggawa ng mga bahay, kasangkapan, at iba pang mga gamit. Gayundin, maraming mga halaman sa kagubatan ang ginagamit bilang gamot at pagkain. Maraming indigenous na komunidad ang umaasa sa kagubatan para sa kanilang kabuhayan at pangangalaga sa kanilang kultura at tradisyon.

Sa ekonomiya, ang mga kagubatan ay may malaking kontribusyon. Maraming industriya ang umaasa sa mga produkto ng kagubatan, tulad ng mga gubat na pinagkukunan ng kahoy at iba pang mga produktong likas. Bukod dito, ang mga kagubatan ay isang popular na destinasyon para sa ecotourism, kung saan ang mga turista ay bumibisita upang makita ang mga likas na tanawin at makaranas ng mga outdoor activities. Bagamat napakahalaga ng mga kagubatan sa ating kalikasan at buhay, patuloy silang nasisira dulot ng mga ilegal na pagtotroso, pagmimina, at iba pang uri ng hindi tamang pangangalaga. Kaya’t napakahalaga na tayo, bilang mga tao, ay magsanib-puwersa upang pangalagaan ang ating mga kagubatan. Ang simpleng pagsunod sa mga batas pangkalikasan, pagtatanim ng mga puno, at pagsuporta sa mga programa na naglalayong maprotektahan ang kagubatan ay ilan lamang sa mga hakbang na maaari nating gawin upang mapanatili ang likas na yaman na ito para sa mga susunod na henerasyon.

Patria National High School bid farewell to three long-serving members of its faculty and staff: Ma'am Elsa V. Aquino, an English teacher; Mr. Diobino S. Mantac, the dedicated school utility worker; and Mrs. Neriza R. Aranas, a crucial member of the school’s administrative staff. Their retirement marks the end of an era at the school, where each of them made lasting contributions to the institution and the students they served.

𝗔 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗘𝗹𝘀𝗮 𝗩. 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼

Ma’am Elsa V. Aquino’s retirement from her position as an English teacher has left a profound impact on the students and staff of Patria National High School. With a career spanning more than two decades, Ma’am Elsa has taught countless students to love the beauty of literature, sharpen their writing skills, and express themselves confidently through language. Her dedication to her craft has not only shaped the academic success of her students but also instilled in them a sense of discipline, curiosity, and passion for learning.

Beyond the classroom, Ma’am Elsa was known for her approachable nature, always ready to lend an ear to students and colleagues alike. Her mentoring and guidance were invaluable to many, making her a respected figure within the school community. As she steps into retirement, her legacy as a teacher and mentor will undoubtedly continue to inspire those she has taught.

For over a decade, Mr. Diobino S. Mantac served as the school’s utility worker, often working behind the scenes to ensure the smooth operation of the school’s facilities. His dedication to maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of Patria National High School was unparalleled. From early mornings to late evenings, Mr. Mantac was always present, ensuring that classrooms were safe, grounds were tidy, and that everything ran efficiently.

Known for his quiet yet steadfast work ethic, Mr. Mantac's contributions were often taken for granted by many, but his role was undeniably essential to the daily functioning of the school. His positive attitude, willingness to help, and silent dedication to the students and staff left an indelible mark. As he bids farewell to his role, the school community is reminded of the unsung heroes whose work often goes unnoticed but is critical to creating a nurturing environment for learning.

Mrs. Neriza R. Aranas, a key figure in the school’s administrative team, has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of Patria National High School’s day-to-day activities. Her organizational skills, attention to detail, and unwavering professionalism helped streamline various processes, from student records to staff coordination. For many students and staff, Mrs. Aranas was the face of the administration, always available to provide assistance and solve problems with grace and efficiency.

Her willingness to lend a helping hand made her a trusted figure in the school. Over the years, Mrs. Aranas has been the backbone of countless school events, projects, and operations, helping to ensure that everything ran like clockwork. Her retirement marks the end of a chapter in the school's administration, but the foundation she helped build will continue to support the school’s success for years to come.

The retirement of Ma’am Elsa, Mr. Mantac, and Mrs. Aranas was celebrated by the entire Patria National High School community in a heartfelt ceremony that honored their years of hard work, dedication, and service. Students, teachers, and staff shared stories, expressed gratitude, and reminisced about the many ways these three individuals had touched their lives.

While their retirement marks the end of an era, it also opens the door to new opportunities for each of them. Ma’am Elsa is looking forward to enjoying more time with her family, while Mr. Mantac plans to take it easy and enjoy some well-deserved rest. Mrs. Aranas, who devoted much of her career to the school, is excited about the next chapter in her life, with hopes to travel and explore new passions.

Patria National High School will undoubtedly feel the absence of these three exceptional individuals, but their legacy of service, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts and memories of the students, faculty, and staff they have touched over the years. As they step into retirement, Ma’am Elsa V. Aquino, Mr. Diobino S. Mantac, and Mrs. Neriza R. Aranas leave behind an enduring imprint on the school, one that will not soon be forgotten.

𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘢, 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 13, 2025 — Patria National High School participated in the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on March 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM. The drill, aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness, was led by the school’s School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Coordinator, Mrs. Mary Ann R. Dela Torre.

During the drill, students, faculty, and staff practiced critical earthquake safety procedures, including the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" technique. The event was designed to teach the school community how to react quickly and effectively in the event of a real earthquake.

Mrs. Dela Torre stressed the importance of executing the drill correctly. "It is essential for students to carry out these drills properly to ensure that the safety measures will be effectively applied when faced with a real earthquake," she explained. She highlighted that proper ex*****on during drills increases the likelihood of a calm and organized response in an actual emergency.

The drill, part of the nationwide effort led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), is intended to help schools and communities build resilience and improve their readiness for natural disasters.

Patria National High School continues to prioritize disaster preparedness as part of its commitment to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all its students.
