𝗪𝗥𝗔𝗣 𝗨𝗣 | 𝗨𝗦𝗟𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

To prepare for the coming Special Elections 2025, students and aspiring candidates attended a Special Orientation hosted by the USLS Student Government Commission on Elections (COMELEC) at the Moot Court on July 25.

The orientation aimed to inform attendees on key topics such as the laws and rules of the election, as well as guidelines for candidate eligibility, showing of support, publication materials, electoral letters, and the calendar of activities.

A mock election is set to take place on August 6, with a campaign period spanning August 3 to 13, the election proper taking place on August 14 to 15, and a Protest period from August 18 to 22.

𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗧 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗖𝗡𝗔 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Lasallian second and third-year BS Information Technology students earned a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification after passing the Introduction to Networks and Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials courses during the first semester.

These courses provide students with foundational knowledge of networking concepts, including the architecture, structure, and functions of computer and internetworks, preparing them for both global certifications and industry-ready skills.

“Something interesting, maybe [...] during the hands-on activities (Packet Tracers), it let us build networks without real hardware [...] a new way to learn how to connect and communicate in a virtual setup,” said one of the CCNA passers when asked about the course's highlight.

These industry-aligned courses, delivered through the Cisco Networking Academy, are part of university’s ongoing efforts to provide students with practical, high-demand skills in computer networking.

Following the announcement of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (VCAA), HEU classes are hereby shifted to asynchronous learning modality on July 23.

Students are expected to communicate with their teachers for updates regarding their classes on said date.

The decision was made by the Bacolod City Local Government Unit pursuant to the Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 90, further reinforced by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s recommendation.
