My answer was simple: Lifelong learning, and constant upskilling and reskilling. Now TESDA, DepEd, and CHED are working together to make this even more seamless because today and in the future, skills are the real currency.

Let’s begin with the National Artists in the category of Film and Broadcast Arts.

There have been 81 National Artists proclaimed in our country, classified into the following categories:
• Music
• Visual Arts
• Dance
• Theater
• Literature
• Architecture
• Fashion Design
• Historical Literature
• Film and Broadcast Arts

Here are the benefits granted to those conferred the title of National Artist:
1. A cash award of one hundred thousand pesos (₱100,000.00) net of taxes for living awardees
2. A monthly life pension, medical, and hospitalization benefits
3. Life insurance coverage for awardees who are still insurable
4. A state funeral and burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Cemetery of Heroes)
5. A place of honor, in accordance with protocol precedence, at national state functions and recognition at cultural events

For posthumous awardees (those who have passed away before being named National Artist):
1. A cash emolument of ₱75,000 will be given to the heirs of the awardee
2. The remains may be transferred to the Libingan ng mga Bayani if the family wishes

MARIAN CELEBRATIONS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

AUGUST 15—ASSUMPTION OF MARY
The Assumption of Mary is a Roman Catholic belief that the Virgin Mary's body and soul were taken up into heaven at the end of her earthly life. It is celebrated as a solemnity on August 15th. The Catholic Church officially declared this belief as dogma in 1950 by Pope Pius XII.

AUGUST 19—4TH APPARITION OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA
The fourth apparition of Our Lady of Fatima occurred on August 19, 1917, in a place called Valinhos, near Fatima, after the children, Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta, were briefly detained by the local administrator. Instead of the usual Cova da Iria, the apparition took place in a pasture where the children were tending sheep.

AUGUST 22—QUEENSHIP OF MARY
Pope Pius XII, having declared the dogma of the Assumption, that “the Immaculate Mother of God … was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory,” then established the feast of her Queenship. He set the date for the octave (8th day) after the Solemnity of the Assumption, that is, August 22 each year.
