The BSNHS delegation was led by their Adult Leader and Wood Badge Holder, Sir Lloyd Layosa. During the week-long jamboree, the scouts joined various activities such as sub-camp campfires, a grand campfire, and the official closing program, alongside scouts from different Asia-Pacific countries.
A major achievement of the delegation was the successful passing of eight scouts in the Board of Review for the Pathfinder Rank. These were John Glenn Sadili, Rhean Jake Dacumos, Ken Andrew Asis, Rhenz Mark Marquez, Billy Loberes, Clyde Russel Opeรฑa, Jasper Francia, and Kirk Thaddeus Ledesma.
The jamboree officially opened on December 14 with a ceremonial program that included the raising of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) flag, the Philippine flag, and the scouting flags of participating Asia-Pacific countries. The opening ceremony was hosted by two outstanding scouts from the Philippines.
This yearโs event was attended by approximately 25,000 scouts, both local and international, from across the Asia-Pacific region, making it one of the largest gatherings in recent years. Adding prestige to the occasion was the presence of David Baden-Powell, Fifth Baron of Gilwell and great-grandson of Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, along with his daughter Charley Baden-Powell, both representing Scouting Australia.
Throughout the event, participants engaged in skill-building activities, leadership programs, and cultural exchanges aimed at strengthening discipline, cooperation, and international friendship.
One of the highlights was the grand campfire, which showcased unity dances and cultural performances from different countries and regions.
Sct. Jasper Francia of Outfit 771 shared his experience, saying:
โMasaya talaga ang Scouting. Nakakapagod, pero punong-puno ito ng masasayang alaala na talagang maipagmamalaki ko.โ
Meanwhile, ES Ong from Outfit 829 of Elias A. Salvador National High School, who served as Scout Council Leader of Quezon Council, said:
โNaging highlight ng experience ko ang pagiging SCL ng Quezon Council na may mahigit 300 delegates. Mahirap pero sulit ang isang linggong pagod. Para sa akin, ang pagiging SCL ay maging friendly, fair at gamitin ang authority para sa ikabubuti ng lahat, hindi para abusuhin.โ
The jamboree concluded with a closing ceremony marked by the lowering of flags. The BSNHS scouts returned home with new skills, strengthened discipline, and a deeper appreciation for Scouting, which they are expected to apply in their school activities and future community service initiatives.
