The BSNHS delegation was led by their Adult Leader and Wood Badge Holder, Sir Lloyd Layosa. During the week-long jamboree, the scouts joined various activities such as sub-camp campfires, a grand campfire, and the official closing program, alongside scouts from different Asia-Pacific countries.

A major achievement of the delegation was the successful passing of eight scouts in the Board of Review for the Pathfinder Rank. These were John Glenn Sadili, Rhean Jake Dacumos, Ken Andrew Asis, Rhenz Mark Marquez, Billy Loberes, Clyde Russel Opeรฑa, Jasper Francia, and Kirk Thaddeus Ledesma.

The jamboree officially opened on December 14 with a ceremonial program that included the raising of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) flag, the Philippine flag, and the scouting flags of participating Asia-Pacific countries. The opening ceremony was hosted by two outstanding scouts from the Philippines.

This yearโ€™s event was attended by approximately 25,000 scouts, both local and international, from across the Asia-Pacific region, making it one of the largest gatherings in recent years. Adding prestige to the occasion was the presence of David Baden-Powell, Fifth Baron of Gilwell and great-grandson of Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, along with his daughter Charley Baden-Powell, both representing Scouting Australia.

Throughout the event, participants engaged in skill-building activities, leadership programs, and cultural exchanges aimed at strengthening discipline, cooperation, and international friendship.
One of the highlights was the grand campfire, which showcased unity dances and cultural performances from different countries and regions.

Sct. Jasper Francia of Outfit 771 shared his experience, saying:

Meanwhile, ES Ong from Outfit 829 of Elias A. Salvador National High School, who served as Scout Council Leader of Quezon Council, said:

The jamboree concluded with a closing ceremony marked by the lowering of flags. The BSNHS scouts returned home with new skills, strengthened discipline, and a deeper appreciation for Scouting, which they are expected to apply in their school activities and future community service initiatives.

BSNHS strengthens Anti-Drug Campaign in DAPC Week 2025 Celebration

Bagong Silang National High School (BSNHS) joined the nationwide observance of Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week 2025 with the theme โ€œSa Bagong Pilipinas, Kalusugan ay Pinapahalagahan, Droga ay Inaayawan", from November 20โ€“22, aimed to raise awareness on the dangers of illegal drugs and encourage students to commit to a drug-free future.

The program showcased various activities such as slogan-making, poster-making, and quiz bee competitions which serve not only as academic and artistic challenges but also as meaningful platforms to promote advocacy, values formation, and informed decision-making among the youth.

BSNHS also recognized learners who excelled in the contests. For the Slogan Making Contest, Ansel Joy M. Dacumos (Grade 9 - Garnet) won 1st place, followed by Renz Vincent Libranda (Grade 8 - Amber) (2nd place) and Rizel Renacido (Grade 10 - Aquamarine) (3rd place). In the Poster Making Contest, Audrey Eunice Lopez (Grade 8 - Topaz) took 1st place, Rhean Jake Dacumos (Grade 10 - Aquamarine) placed 2nd, and Ashyana Noveno (Grade 11 - Pearl) finished 3rd. Meanwhile, in the Quiz Bee, Baby Jane Gonzales (Grade 10 - Aquamarine) secured 1st place, with Crystal Virtucio (Grade 10 - Sapphire) in 2nd place and Rechelle Mendiola (Grade 9 - Ruby) in 3rd. Their achievements reflected the active involvement of BSNHS learners in promoting a drug-free community.

For many students, the celebration served as a reminder that drug awareness is not just a lesson in school but a responsibility they must carry in real life. Several participants shared that the event helped them understand the serious risks of illegal drugs and the importance of staying informed.

The celebration ended with reminders from the facilitators that drug prevention is not a one-time event but a continuous commitment. The advocacy encourages young people to make responsible choices that protect their health, goals, and future.

With the success of this yearโ€™s DAPC Week, BSNHS hopes that every learner carries forward not only knowledge, but the courage to say NO to drugsโ€”and YES to a brighter, drug-free future.

Ebeth L. Umali, English Reading Koordinaytor.

Mary Joy Reyes, Bb. Renalyn D. Odrial at Bb. Cyra Nicole M. Sayat

Sa Senior High School, pinangunahan nina Gng. Nora L. Concepcion at G. Rodolfo A. Orolfo ang literary Cosplay, at Film Showing for a Cause.
