The first Igorot to graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point - one of the world’s most elite and prestigious military institutions.
Colonel Dennis “Dencio” Severo Acop is a retired Filipino military officer, security expert, educator, and writer. He made history as the first Igorot to graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1983,,,an institution regarded as one of the most elite military academies in the world.
He served in the Armed Forces of the Philippines for 26 years, rising to the rank of Colonel. During his military career, he served six years in the Presidential Security Group under President Fidel V. Ramos and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit.
He was also recognized with the Distinguished Conduct Star, the second-highest military honor for gallantry, for his role during the 1989 coup attempt, and the Distinguished Service Star for exemplary service.

Here’s the thing… Metro Manila really does offer a lot of opportunity!
And that is why my two good friends Kumar and Kumander Daot have made the journey here. This week is going to be tiring and probably quite stressful on our brains! Why? Well, we are “going back to school”… at least in a sense. An opportunity came up, and we want to pursue it! I’ll share more in coming days, but in the meantime…

I know we all are best in Bisaya, pero… Tagalog mode on! And I must say, always kinda cool seeing friends looking out from the high rise balcony. Sure, we love the province life… but certainly the big city can have a vibe too.

Being married… I am not giving up my bed for friends anymore! Couch and floor mattress is the best I can do. 😅💪🇵🇭❤️
