Change does not happen overnight, nor does it demand an enduring stretch of time. Rather, change ignites the moment we dictate ourselves to leave behind our early undertakings and transition into a new chapter regardless of the time or setting.
Confirming this precise reality, on June 19th, 308 clinical graduates from the Class of 2026 demonstrated the power of that transformation as they raised their hands to take the Oath and received their certificates of recognition during the ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐.
โThis significant milestone, held at the Fr. Theophile Verbist Hall, nestled a genuine sense of shared accomplishment. Gathered alongside the soon-to-be pharmacists were the faculty, mentors, and distinguished guests from various pharmaceutical companies and hospital institutions that offered the four corners of their facilities to cater every graduateโs voyage.
Amidst the triumph that resonated the solemn air inside the venue, students shared their attention to the very essence of their journey: โ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด: ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ.โ The seemingly endless years of academic pursuit and sleepless nights faded into the background, coming up into a realization that their stay in the university was never merely about memorizing and acquiring passing scores, but about preparing to serve wholeheartedly.
The path has never been easy, and progress is often the only thing that occupies the mind, but along the way, achievements are made unknowingly. Across the different fields of pharmacy practiceโhospital, manufacturing, community, regulatory, and institutionalโa chosen few stood out among their peers to be awarded as the best interns in their respective areas.
โFrom scanning the formulary, preparing medications for in-patients, and growing weary of the deafening beep of the hospital paging system, 31 students were now overjoyed as their names echoed from the stage, deeming them the Best Interns for Hospital Pharmacy.
โAmong the facilities to lend their spaces to these students were Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGH-MC), Saint Louis University - Sacred Heart Medical Center (SLU-SHMC), Pines City Doctors' Hospital, Urdaneta Sacred Heart Hospital, Region 1 Medical Center, and Makati Medical Center.
There are also those students who accepted the challenge of the precise and strict grounds of manufacturing pharmacy. 25 graduates were named as the best among their peers as they did not just follow the protocols but also go beyond what they were capable of.
Combining immediate access to medication with reliable counseling, the community pharmacy stands as an indispensable pillar of local wellness. In recognition of their dedication and outstanding performance, 31 students stepped forward as they were honored among the Best Interns from more than 20 community pharmacies that hosted them.
Bridging the gap between drug development, manufacturing, and national healthcare policies, 16 interns from Regulatory Pharmacy were identified to have met the legal requirements to be the best in the said field.
The La Trinidad Municipal Health Services Office, Baguio City Health Services Office, MedReach, and the Pharmacy Preceptors Guild of the Philippines โ Regulatory Internship Group gave proof to the aforementioned list as they witnessed firsthand the work that these students put into practice.
Working alongside the medical staff and allied health, 17 interns from Institutional Pharmacy rose to the challenge within the fast-paced environment of healthcare institutions, distinguishing themselves as Best Interns in their field.
Throughout their journey, four various institutions allowed them to hop in their team and be a part of the medical expedition: MEDExpress/Medford Ax Solutions Pampanga, Philippine Military Academy, Department of Social Work and Development - CAR Regional Office, and Pharmacy Preceptors Guild of the Philippines - Institutional Internship Group.
Dean Ann P. Opiรฑa, RMT, PhD of the School of Nursing, Allied Health, and Biological Sciences was also present to deliver the opening remarks and express her unconditional support.

Dacawe, as he concluded the ceremony.

These future pharmacists have hurdled the obstacle that opens the path toward real-world practice. All that remained were the words to be recited, the pledge that will bind their learning and practice to their core values.
Sir Mark Ryan D. Langit, RPh, MS Pharm, faculty member of the Department of Pharmacy and President of the Alumni Association, led the Oath of a Pharmacy Studentโa reminder and an arsenal of principles to return to whenever life's challenges become overwhelming.
The mind is a tool for change, and change is a power to be utilized in the ever-shifting terrain of life. It was never just a clinical practice; rather, it is an act of prestimulation, priming individuals to the best of their abilities. From this day forward, every step leads to true professionalism and carries with it the profound learnings and experiences from their beloved alma mater.
