The city government reported updates on its projects pursued under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.

During the Management Committee meeting led by Mayor Benjamin Magalong on May 26, 2026, City Legal Officer Althea Alberto said that of the eight PPP projects, one is moving toward implementation, three remain active, and four are considered inactive.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong urged residents and barangay officials to help address the growing problem of pet waste and stray dogs, warning that irresponsible pet ownership is contributing to the Summer Capital’s river pollution woes.

The Mayor said f***l coliform is no longer the primary concern in the city’s water systems, but waste from dogs has become an increasing environmental issue.

The local government was able to provide the necessary assistance to some 1,435 individuals in crisis situations for the first quarter of the year.

City Social Welfare and Development Officer Liza Bulayungan said that the city was able to disburse more than P5 million for the various needs of individuals in crisis situations, composed of 1,096 females and 339 males, who sought help from the local government during the same period

Noting the return of noisy exhausts that cause irritation and disturbance among residents, Mayor Benjamin Magalong today June, 3, 2026 gave motorcycle riders with excessively loud mufflers one week to remove or repair their modified exhaust systems before the city launches a renewed crackdown against violators.
The mayor said complaints about "ear-piercing" muffler sounds have again been increasing in different parts of the city necessitating intensified enforcement efforts.
