An active faculty member of a well-known academic institution in the city, who was contracted as a watcher for the September 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), was apprehended by the National Bureau of Investigationโ€“Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-Semro) during the exam at Davao City National High School on Sunday, September 21.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), the suspect was caught taking photos of test questions and allegedly sending them to several review centers in exchange for P10,000.

The PRC confirmed that the individual will face administrative charges and possible violations of Republic Act 8981which strictly prohibits the unauthorized taking of photographs of examination materials.

This marks the first time in the Davao Region that a contracted LET watcher has been apprehended for leaking examination questions.

The mother of the viral protester opposing the price hike of kwek-kwek, fishball, and tokneneng made an emotional appeal after her child failed to come home for more than 24 hours.

According to her, the protester is in the custody of the Manila Police District (MPD), and their family is ready to face any charges that may be filed.

She further stressed that her child has a mental disorder, which heightens her fears for his safety.

Individuals involved in the violent protest that took place yesterday in Manila may face charges of sedition.
This was announced by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

In connection with this, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro appealed to Sec. Remulla and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. to also investigate and study the possibility of filing inciting to sedition charges against former Congressman Chavit Singson, who allegedly encouraged the youth to participate in the protest.
