Sometimes, you don’t stop loving God , you just get tired. And maybe, what we need isn’t to force ourselves to be who we used to be, but to let God restore the fire we once had.
I know a person who was once on fire.
That person was always there. Always participating. Always showing up. Always giving, serving, and sacrificing. Always on time. Never missing an activity. Always showing support. Always willing to contribute. Always all out.
That person served with joy. Served with passion. Served because of a genuine love for God and a desire to be used by Him.
Until one day, discouragement came.
Instead of being appreciated, that person was criticized. Instead of being encouraged, that person was compared. Family problems came. Financial struggles followed. Life became busier, and responsibilities became heavier.
And little by little, the fire that once burned so brightly began to fade.
That person didn't stop loving God.
That person simply became tired.
Slowly, that person became less active. No longer showing up like before. No longer giving the same energy. No longer serving with the same passion. No longer the same person everyone used to know.
Then one day, that person realized:
“Somewhere along the way, I lost the person I was when I first started serving the Lord.”
And now, that person prays.
Prays that God would restore the fire. Prays that God would breathe life into a heart that has grown tired. Prays that God would bring back the passion, the joy, and the desire to serve.
Not simply to become active again.
But to return to the heart that once served with genuine love.
That person keeps praying:
“Lord, bring me back to my first love. Restore in me the joy of serving You again.”
I don't know… maybe you can relate.
Maybe...
that person is you.
