"𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗼-𝗦𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗴-𝗮𝘀𝗮,
𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮'𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴."

Where sabutan leaves are woven by skilled hands and coconut trees sway steadily by the waves, the heart of Aurora—Baler—honors two significant events: the 147th birth anniversary of Former President Manuel L. Quezon, whose vision for a nation’s identity gave us the national language, and the feast of our Patron Saint San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, whose humility and devotion still guide the town's faith. Today, Balereños weave their joy into their very own 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗼-𝗦𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹.

"𝗜𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿, 𝘀𝗮 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗼’𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗴,
𝗗𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗽"'

A mighty tidal wave once wiped away the town of Baler, sweeping lives, homes, and memories out to sea. Yet from devastation, the people endured, refusing to let the ocean’s fury erase their identity. The deadly wave of Tromba Marina in 1735 still lives in the heart of Balereños—not as a wound of the past, but a strength of today.

"𝗚𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘆, 𝗴𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗼, 𝗯𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗵𝗮’𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹"

Baler now thrives as one of the country’s vibrant tourism destinations, drawing visitors not only to the Birthplace of Philippine Surfing- Sabang Beach, but also to its rich cultural heritage and local industries. The town takes pride in products made from its natural resources; coconut-based goods, sabutan crafts, and even its own locally produced liquor, Tequila de Baler

"𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮, 𝗮𝘄𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻,
𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶’𝘁 𝗻𝗶𝘆𝗼𝗴, 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶 𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻."

Today, Balereños celebrate every dance a heartbeat, every song a prayer, and every smile a symbol of a vibrant culture despite the dark past. In Baler, history does not fade; it breathes, it sings, it soars.

𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚, 𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗖𝗜! 𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚!

This August 16, 2025, Quezon Highway blazes red as the street dancers from Aurora National Science High School (ANSHS) storm into the Indakalye Street Dance Competition of the Akkaw Baler Coco-Sabutan Festival. The music thunders like battle calls, every beat pushing their steps faster and fiercer, every stomp sends shockwaves through the pavement. Each move strikes like lightning—surprising and amusing, each formation, a banner of pure ANSci pride.

They raise the airplanes high, shout their name until it echoes down the streets, and send the dancers off with the rumbling roar of victory. Sulong ANSci! may every step burn with fire, every smile hold the crowd, and every heartbeat match the rhythm. They dance like the streets belonged to them—because on that day, they did. SULONG, ANSCI! SULONG!

Aurora National Science High School’s Filipino Collaborative Desktop Publishing (CDP) team made history as the first from Aurora province’s CDP category to clinch a spot in the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC)—the Philippines’ most prestigious campus journalism competition.

Rising above contenders from all 17 regions, the team earned 4th Place during the NSPC held in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, from May 19 to 23.

This breakthrough is more than a win—it’s a milestone etched in bold ink, proof that The Nucleus’ pursuit of journalistic excellence remains undying by its consistent presence on the national stage.

Guided by the steady hands of Coach Maria Salve Amor Sudario, School Paper Adviser Ricky Aguilar, Co-Adviser Mon Ferdinand Prado, and Principal Rosalinda Sison, this victory honors the people who believe in the power of student journalism.

And this is not the end—it’s the threshold of greater stories to tell.

May every page draw eyes, every layout carry weight, and every voice rise with truth and intention—for journalism doesn’t just report history. It dares to shape it.
