I can't believe it's been 9 years since I had the absolute honor of meeting the legendary and getting my very first tattoo from her and her granddaughter! 🥹⛰️
That trip to Buscalan was seriously life-changing, and meeting Apo Whang-Od face to face and her not-so-gentle hands (maybe because I woke her up😅) made my first traditional tribal tattoo experience so incredibly memorable.
It wasn't just about the ink, it was about the journey (my first time hiking and felt like I'm gonna die. Lol), my first time riding or experiencing top load, the mountain views, and the privilege of witnessing a living legend at work.
Plus, I met some truly amazing people along the way. Fellow travelers with incredible stories and the welcoming locals who shared their culture with open hearts. I even met someone from the same company I used to work so we have a lot of mutual friends. Looking back at these photos just fills me with so much gratitude for that unforgettable adventure! ✨
