CTE students earn spot in TOSA 2025-2026
Continuing a strong legacy of student distinction, three students from the College of Teacher Education (CTE) earned honors in the annual search for Ten Outstanding Students of Aklan State University in Banga (TOSA) for the Academic Year 2025–2026.
From a diverse pool of 24 university nominees, Mark Jay Molina, BSEd Science IV-II student, Ro Sueo Publication Editor-in-Chief and incumbent YES Secretary, clinched 2nd place, where he shared his definition of “outstanding”.
"I believe that the highest form of love is service. For me, being outstanding is rooted in serving others genuinely and purposefully," Molina stated.
Molina also shared that receiving the award did not change his definition of the said concept but instead strengthened his belief.
"Becoming a TOSA awardee did not change that definition; instead, it strengthened my belief that true excellence is measured not only by achievements, but by the impact we leave on the people we serve," he added.
Meanwhile, Caryl Joy Empuerto, BSEd English IV student, placed 8th, earning a spot where she deemed more than just recognition.
"Being a TOSA awardee means more to me than receiving recognition, it is a reflection of the journey, sacrifices, and values that shaped me into the person I am today," she stated.
Further, Jayben C. Mationg, a BSEd English IV student and the incumbent Prime Minister of the Discourse Society, sealed the lineup at 10th rank.
“I see it as continuing the work we’ve already started in EP and DS—building spaces where students are not treated as passive recipients of administrative decisions, but as active participants in matters that affect them," Mationg shared.
The TOSA recognizes students who exemplify outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and community service across the ASU campus and beyond.
