CTE Faculty join 10th SEA-Teacher Project Evaluation Meeting; gear up for 11th Batch

College of Teacher Education (CTE) faculty members, Dr. Sharmaine L. Lava, ASU-CTE SEA Teacher Coordinator, and Mrs. Charline A. Radislao, CTE Chair for Internationalization, participated in the 10th Evaluation Meeting: Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia on August 5-6, 2025, at the Algoritma Auditorium, Universitas Brawijaya Malang, Indonesia, via a hybrid setup.

The evaluation meeting consisted of four sessions, including an overview of the project, evaluation of Batch 10, workshops, a networking session for onsite participants, and a cultural visit.

In preparation for Batch 11, ASU-CTE is set to participate in upcoming coordination meetings and readiness activities as guided by SEAMEO to ensure a smooth implementation of the next cycle of the program.

The SEA-Teacher Project is an initiative launched by SEAMEO in 2016, aimed at nurturing cross-cultural learning experiences that equip student-teachers with a global perspective through the internationalization of education.

Every roast has its depth. So do you.

Some brews come out light and sweet, others bold and bitter—but all are shaped by heat, pressure, and time. Like every cup of coffee, every storyteller carries a process within: shaped by the truths they’ve wrestled with, and the moments that brewed their courage.

If you’ve ever felt the calling to pour stories out for others to sip, ro sueo has a seat for you.

The sun still lingers long, but there's something new in the air. A hushed sense of movement. A rhythm slowly returning. The buzz of preparation, of notebooks waiting to be filled and minds ready to be reawakened.

This is the beauty of August; it holds both endings and beginnings. It asks us to savor the last golden sips of summer while gently guiding us toward what's next. A reminder that change doesn't always have to feel like a storm. Sometimes, it's as subtle as a cooler breeze or a calendar slowly filling with plans.

As classes draw near and life picks up its pace again, may we carry the rest we've gathered and the lessons we have learned. May we show up with courage and a little more kindness for ourselves and each other.

Here's to finding joy in structure. Here's to growth in the unknown. Here's to freedom in knowing we're exactly where we need to be.

Here's to August.

25/07/2025

Campus journalists are harbingers of truth, on any occasion, within or beyond the campus gates. Behind their role lies more than the duty of reporting; they are amplifiers of the unheard, the unspoken, the silenced.

This day conquers the sixth anniversary of National Campus Press Freedom Day, proclaimed on August 28, 2019, a day born out of the need to challenge twisted truths and blurred narratives.

For when leaders hesitate, journalists ask. When the truth is unclear, they dig. And when confusion spreads, they contextualize, wherever and whenever necessary.

May this day reminds us to be seekers of truth, and to honor the service of those who stand with the press. For there is change because some brave inks bled their pens out of a courageous spirit.
