𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 I To prepare for their upcoming clinical practice, the second-year Nursing students of St. Paul College of Ilocos Sur attended a Hospital Affiliation Orientation on August 29, 2025, at the Institutional Audio-Visual Room.

From RHU Bantay, Mrs. Danah Hates R. Barroga, Health Program Officer I, Ms. Joan Marie S. Pablico, Nurse Department Program, and Mr. Allen S. Nabor, Public Health Nursing II, discussed the protocols, weekly schedules, and student expectations. Meanwhile, representatives from the Gabriela Silang General Hospital — Ms. Kathleen Parel, Mr. Elvie Navarro, and Mr. Ralf Marion Querubin — provided an overview of the hospital’s history, offices, sections, policies, and guidelines.

The orientation aimed to familiarize students with hospital protocols, safety measures, and professional expectations to ensure quality patient care and safeguard their well-being. It was organized by the Nursing Department under the leadership of Sr. Sahlee Palijo, SPC, and Ms. Vicker A. Albano, Program Chair, with the support of the Clinical Instructors.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | Following Executive Order No. 24 Series of 2025, issued by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, the suspension of classes in ALL LEVELS is EXTENDED tomorrow, Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

This extension of the suspension of classes is due to the ongoing risks brought by Super Typhoon “Nando” (Ragasa) and the province’s support to disaster response operations.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 I Cassandra Abbygale Cabo, a third-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) student, secured FIRST PLACE in the VizWiz: Turning Data into Visual Representationcontest during the 2025 Regional Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Convention and Data Festival at the Vigan Convention Center.

The Regional Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Convention and Data Festival, held on September 17–18, 2025, is an event that brings together local government units, academic institutions, and development stakeholders to highlight the importance of community-based data in planning and policy-making.

This success was achieved through the guidance of Ms. Shantel Alquiza, DBHTM Program Chairperson.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Nadine Faith Tolentino, third-year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management student, clinched first place in the Tourism Tour Guiding Competition at the Vigan Solidarity Festival 2025, held on September 17, 2025, at the Vigan Convention Center.

The competition, participated in by various higher education institutions in Ilocos Sur, assessed not only the participants’ knowledge of local tourist destinations but also their ability to promote indigenous products, an endeavor that underscores the importance of cultural heritage and tourism excellence.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 I Paulinians celebrated the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary through a Eucharistic Celebration on September 8, 2025, at Bishop Frederick Rooker Audi-Gymnasium.

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Elmer Loreto, SVD reflected on Mary’s simple yet life-changing “yes” to God. “If a simple girl from Nazareth could change the world by saying ‘yes,’ then believe me, you and I can also make a difference,” he reminded the faithful, urging them to embrace their potential to bring about positive change.

Students also offered flowers to the Blessed Virgin Mary as a gesture of devotion and gratitude.

The celebration also became more meaningful as it coincided with the feast day of Sr. Ma. Nilda Masirag, SPC, School President. Students and faculty extended their warm greetings, prayers, and appreciation to Sr. Nilda on her special day.
