Tribo ng Kagubatan, representing the Teacher Education Society of Language and Communication (TESLACom), emerged as the top contender in multiple academic competitions as part of this yearโs ALAB Ikatlong Yugto: The CTE Knights Cup, Nov. 7.
The team bested three other groups or โtriboโ representing each of the collegeโs sub-organizations: Tribo ng Kapatagan (Future Elementary Mentors Society), Tribo ng Kalakalan (Association of Social, Physical, and Technopreneurial Enthusiasts), and Tribo ng Laot (Teacher Education Association of Mathematics and Sciences Students).
In the highly anticipated Radio Broadcasting and Scriptwriting Competition, Tribo ng Kagubatan secured the first-place title, showcasing their skill and teamwork. Tribo ng Kapatagan and Tribo ng Kalakalan followed closely in second and third places, respectively, while Tribo ng Laot claimed fourth place.
The victory came despite a tight preparation schedule. โTalagang weโre not expecting na makukuha po namin lahat ng awards na yun. Given na 4th year po kami, kaya from our duty ay diretso na po kami sa campus para mag practice,โ Julius Corrales from Team Kagubatan said.
โNatapos po namin ang script kaso po di kami nakapag-run ng kahit isa before the competition itself. We just stick to the script po kaya siguro kami naka-get through it at nakapag perform nang maayos,โ the Corrales added.
Kagubatanโs broadcast team swept the special awards, winning Best Infomercial, Best Technical Application, and Best Scriptโa clean sweep that underscored their mastery of both content and production.
For individual competitions, honors went to Tribo ng Kagubatanโs Faith Dimaano, who was named Best Anchorperson. The competition for Best News presenter was equally intense, with Kianna Gagalac of Kagubatan emerging in first place, followed by Anna Joyce Dalisay and Shanlie Renz Gutierrez, securing second and third places, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the Quiz Bee category, Tribo ng Kalakalan took first place with a strong performance from Jaycee N. Levi, Crystal Jade Capacite, and Aesha Dee Seda. Tribo ng Kagubatan's team, represented by Maria Glaiza Andal, Aila Joh Formentos, and Christian Jay Landicho, earned a commendable second place, while Tribo ng Kapataganโs representatives Kristel Anne Formon, Vanessa Buela, and Marjorie Obligar finished third.
In the Pagsulat ng Editoryal category, Tribo ng Kagubatan once again demonstrated their excellence. Dennilyn Lopez took first place, with Jude Michael Jansalin claiming second. Gracielle Gayeta of Tribo ng Kapatagan followed in third, while Benjie Bunyi, from Kalakalan, secured fourth place.
Adding to their laurels, Tribo ng Kagubatan achieved a strong finish in Masining na Pagkukuwento; however, the top honor went to Tristan Noel G. Flores of Tribo ng Laot, whose performance earned first place. Tribo ng Kagubatanโs Akyzia Grace Dalisay won second, and Hannah Grace Perez of Tribo ng Kapatagan rounded out the podium in third.
With its sweeping victories and near-total dominance across categories, Tribo ng Kagubatan has set a high benchmark for academic excellence within the College of Teacher Education.
