Connections fostering collaborationโ€”College of Teacher Education (CTE) composed of six student organizations join the call to participate in the COLLAB 2025: Global Horizons (Student Leadership in the Age of Internationalization) at Governor Feliciano โ€œSanoyโ€ Memorial Multipurpose Gymnasium, March 8 and 9.

Holding the torch of pride in leadership, officers from Teacher Education Student Council, Teacher Education Honor Society, Association of Social, Physical, and Technopreneurial Enthusiasts, Future Elementary Mentors Society, Teacher Education Association of Mathematics and Sciences Students, and Teacher Education Society of Language and Communication together with other organization from all the colleges under Pablo Borbon, Lemery, Rosario, and San Juan Campus were involved in the event spearheaded by the Supreme Student Council of Pablo Borbon Campus.

Quenching the thirst for valuable insights, Day 1 featured renowned speakers who graced the event and shared thought-provoking discussions and innovative topics tailored to varying ways of leadership while adhering to the needs of internationalization. Some of the points tackled cross-cultural leadership, personal development, youth and SDGs in a globalized world as well as the panel discussion focused on navigating international paths: opportunities beyond borders.

โ€œIn this globalized academic environment, we are constantly exposed to new ideas, cultures, and viewpoints. Effective leadership requires a deep understanding of diversity and ability to communicate across cultural boundaries,โ€ Mr. Yang Liyu, a keynote speaker, said.

Bolstering camaraderie and strong collaboration, fun-filled team building activities and games were prepared during the second day of the event for the participants in their respective countries-themed groups. Delegates from different organizations were clustered randomly promoting interpersonal skills, teamwork, and cooperation for each team.

โ€œThe core purpose of COLLAB is to build connections with each other across different student-leaders and student organizations,โ€ Dr. Daryl Magpantay, Vice Chancellor for Research, Development and Extension Services, said.

As the student-leaders gathered for the two-day event aimed at shaping leadership skills while promoting socialization among fellows, they paved the way and started the steps to reach global horizons in the midst of diversity.

Unmasking Excellence: CTE's 6th EdukParangal champions leadership, advocacy, service beyond academe

Under the glimmer of diamonds, draped in the allure of a midnight ball, the evening shimmered with recognition for those whose leadership and service have cast light beyond the classroom. The College of Teacher Education (CTE), headed by the Teacher Education Student Council, transformed the Gov. Feliciano โ€œSanoyโ€ Leviste Memorial Multipurpose Gymnasium into a spectacle of elegance and excellence on February 21, 2025 for the 6th EdukParangal: Honoring the Pillars of Tomorrow.

Adding new brilliance to this yearโ€™s awards, the event introduced the Most Outstanding Block per Year Level and the Top 10 Outstanding Block Officers, celebrating student-led initiatives that radiated teamwork and leadership. These honors joined the prestigious categories for Environmental Protection, Gender Development, Community Involvement, Culture and Arts Preservation, and Educational Development, proving that true excellence is measured not only in academic achievements but also in the impact left on communities and the lives changed along the way.

A moment of significance unfolded when former Senator Francis โ€œKikoโ€ Pangilinan graced the event via video message. โ€œYou have the energy. You have the creativity. You have the passion. And most importantly, you do not have a selfish interest to protect. Thatโ€™s why you have historically been agents of changeโ€”a catalyst for change sa ano mang lipunan.โ€ These were the words of the statesman, igniting a renewed sense of purpose in every honoree.

Additionally, Hon. Ran Drick Kenneth Umali, the universityโ€™s student regent, lauded the CTE Knights and left an inspirational message encouraging them to do things through excellence, service, and compassion as future leaders and shapers of the next generation.

To further hype the audience, SigWay and The Paragon delivered exceptional performances as they brought both music and dance to life. As the event continued, the hall erupted with the vibrant energy from the champions of culture and harmony, igniting the atmosphere and making the attendeed savor every moment.

As the recipients stood in recognition, they were not only honored for what they had done, but were entrusted with a greater responsibility: to carry the torch of leadership, to champion change, and to build a future where excellence is not just achieved, but sharedโ€”as the pillars of tomorrow.

The College of Teacher Education (CTE) celebrated ALAB Ikatlong Yugto: The CTE Knights Cup, which featured LAKAS: Laro ng Kahusayan (Paligsahang Pampalakasan) with four tribes battling at Batangas State University-Pablo Borbon grounds, November 7.

LAKAS consisted of several competitions such as volleyball men and women, 3x3 basketball, and badminton singles, all at the Old Gymnasium. There was also an e-sports competition held at the Acacia Hall.

In the Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) tournament, Tribo ng Kapatagan proved their mettle, emerging as the victors after a hard-fought best-of-three series. From the opening round, the team demonstrated excellent gunplay, coordinated tactics, and a deep understanding of the game mechanics. Their synergy was evident in every skirmish, as they adapted to their opponents' strategies and maintained control in high-pressure situations.

Tribo ng Laot rode the wave of momentum in the Mobile Legends side, sweeping their rivals in a best-of-three format to claim the crown. With quick reflexes, strategic drafting, and flawless ex*****on, the team showcased an elite level of gameplay. Their ability to adapt to their opponentโ€™s picks, while maintaining excellent map awareness and communication set them apart throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, Tribo ng Kagubatan under the Teacher Education Society on Language and Communication (TESLaCom) shot their spot in the ALAB 3x3 Basketball Championship after sweeping Tribo ng Kalakalan under the Association of Social, Physical, and Technopreneurial Enthusiasts (ASPHYTECH) 17-9. Jomar E. Evangelista, Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino 2101, was hailed as the most valuable player of the game by showcasing his impressive skills, competitiveness, and sportsmanship.

Furthermore, in an intense volleyball showdown in the women's division, TESLaCom claimed the top spot, defeating ASPHYTECH (Kalakalan), who took second, and Laot TEAMSยฒ, who finished third with a strong effort. On the other side of the court, the boysโ€™ division saw FEMS dominate, clinching first place with impressive teamwork. TESLaCom came in second, while ASPHYTECH rounded out the podium in third.

Nonetheless, Tribo ng Kapatagan and Tribo ng Laot showcased their extraordinary skills of using their rackets and spikes forcefully every time they faced their opponents on the other side of the court. The victory of Kapatagan in women's badminton and Laot in men's badminton also showed how they really offered time to practice and master their courage to face any shuttlecock thrown at them. They might not be expecting to win throughout the whole game, but their passion and dedication for sports didn't disappoint for them to achieve victorious glory.

Overall, the CTE Knights engaged in a friendly competition highlighting their dedication to defending their tribe in the four sports categories, hitting every second to score and smashing their way to triumph.

Tribo ng Kagubatan, representing the Teacher Education Society of Language and Communication (TESLACom), emerged as the top contender in multiple academic competitions as part of this yearโ€™s ALAB Ikatlong Yugto: The CTE Knights Cup, Nov. 7.

The team bested three other groups or โ€œtriboโ€ representing each of the collegeโ€™s sub-organizations: Tribo ng Kapatagan (Future Elementary Mentors Society), Tribo ng Kalakalan (Association of Social, Physical, and Technopreneurial Enthusiasts), and Tribo ng Laot (Teacher Education Association of Mathematics and Sciences Students).

In the highly anticipated Radio Broadcasting and Scriptwriting Competition, Tribo ng Kagubatan secured the first-place title, showcasing their skill and teamwork. Tribo ng Kapatagan and Tribo ng Kalakalan followed closely in second and third places, respectively, while Tribo ng Laot claimed fourth place.

The victory came despite a tight preparation schedule. โ€œTalagang weโ€™re not expecting na makukuha po namin lahat ng awards na yun. Given na 4th year po kami, kaya from our duty ay diretso na po kami sa campus para mag practice,โ€ Julius Corrales from Team Kagubatan said.

โ€œNatapos po namin ang script kaso po di kami nakapag-run ng kahit isa before the competition itself. We just stick to the script po kaya siguro kami naka-get through it at nakapag perform nang maayos,โ€ the Corrales added.

Kagubatanโ€™s broadcast team swept the special awards, winning Best Infomercial, Best Technical Application, and Best Scriptโ€”a clean sweep that underscored their mastery of both content and production.

For individual competitions, honors went to Tribo ng Kagubatanโ€™s Faith Dimaano, who was named Best Anchorperson. The competition for Best News presenter was equally intense, with Kianna Gagalac of Kagubatan emerging in first place, followed by Anna Joyce Dalisay and Shanlie Renz Gutierrez, securing second and third places, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the Quiz Bee category, Tribo ng Kalakalan took first place with a strong performance from Jaycee N. Levi, Crystal Jade Capacite, and Aesha Dee Seda. Tribo ng Kagubatan's team, represented by Maria Glaiza Andal, Aila Joh Formentos, and Christian Jay Landicho, earned a commendable second place, while Tribo ng Kapataganโ€™s representatives Kristel Anne Formon, Vanessa Buela, and Marjorie Obligar finished third.

In the Pagsulat ng Editoryal category, Tribo ng Kagubatan once again demonstrated their excellence. Dennilyn Lopez took first place, with Jude Michael Jansalin claiming second. Gracielle Gayeta of Tribo ng Kapatagan followed in third, while Benjie Bunyi, from Kalakalan, secured fourth place.

Adding to their laurels, Tribo ng Kagubatan achieved a strong finish in Masining na Pagkukuwento; however, the top honor went to Tristan Noel G. Flores of Tribo ng Laot, whose performance earned first place. Tribo ng Kagubatanโ€™s Akyzia Grace Dalisay won second, and Hannah Grace Perez of Tribo ng Kapatagan rounded out the podium in third.

With its sweeping victories and near-total dominance across categories, Tribo ng Kagubatan has set a high benchmark for academic excellence within the College of Teacher Education.
