TEACHER, IKAW NAMAN!

Every September 5 to October 5, we celebrate the National Teachers’ Month to honor the people who patiently guide us not only inside the classroom but also beyond the four corners of it. Teachers do more than teach lessons; they listen. They encourage us whenever we struggle. They also remind us that we are capable of more than we think and that we can become the best versions of ourselves.

This month, TEACHER, IKAW NAMAN! You deserve to be seen, heard, and appreciated. Behind every lesson is your time, effort, dedication, sacrifice, and act of care to help us grow.

To all the teachers who continue to believe in, guide, and inspire their students, thank you. Thank you for making a difference in our lives.

Moreover, Ms. Nelly L. Atienza, Pinagkawitan Elementary School's principal, delivered her welcome remarks and emphasized the purpose of the competition. She also encouraged the student-journalists to continue to write and voice the truth.

Campus journalists competed in nine individual writing contests on the first day and four group contests on the second day.

The two-day competition was held successfully. Awarding ceremony will happen on September 12 at Pinagkawitan Elementary School.

‎LOOK | LCC Silvercrest School Junior High School Department Talent Auditions 2026

‎On July 24, 2026, LCC Silvercrest Junior High School Department held its annual talent auditions at the LCC Auditorium.

‎Sining ng Pag-Indak (SinDak), the school's dance group, held their auditions in the morning. Their program was opened by Nadine Imena Layola with a prayer, and followed Jezshiel Paula Virrey conducting the national anthem. An intermission number was given by SinDak, showing their dance skills and giving auditionees a view of what they are going to do once accepted. Ms. Kristine Carla Silva, the group coordinator, gave her opening remarks to give motivation to dancers to gain their confidence when dancing.

‎The first segment for the dance audition was performing the prepared choreo. In this segment, auditionees will show the choreo they prepared for the audition. Freestyle challenge was the second segment. The challenge here is that once the music starts, auditionee must start dancing within 40 seconds. This segment shows the dancers' ability to improvisation skills and show their self-expression without choreography provided. The last segment was the dance challenge. Mr. Arwin Barcellano, the group's co-coordinator, taught a choreography to the auditionees. The goal here is to see if auditionees are fast learners and adaptability.

‎Mr. Arwin Barcellano gave his closing remarks before ending the dance audition.

‎Afterwards, Band Aid auditions were held at the LCC Silvercrest Auditorium in the afternoon. The auditions began with Mr. Joshua P. Juezan explaining the criteria in singing and playing instruments, informing students how they will be graded and selected.

‎Aspiring singing members went first, sang their prepared songs, and sang another song when asked to. This gave an opportunity to let auditionees showcase their vocal talents and range.

‎After song auditions, aspiring band members were next. All auditionees went with playing their instruments—showcasing their talents in playing musical pieces.

‎To conclude, the auditions went smoothly, and ended with everyone given a chance to showcase their talents.
