Best Soil Mix for Bougainvillea
👉 It requires loose, fertile, well‑draining soil with slightly acidic to neutral pH. An ideal traditional mix is equal parts garden soil, compost and coarse sand or perlite. Take note poor drainage is the top cause of root rot and poor performance!

We also highly recommend this practical, cost‑effective blend👇

- 🧡 Cocopeat – Retains sufficient moisture and contains gentle natural nutrients; keeps the root zone stable and healthy without drying out too quickly 💧

- 🤎 Rice Hull – Opens up the mix to make it loose and airy, allows excess water to drain rapidly — this is crucial because bougainvillea is very sensitive to soggy soil / “wet feet” and easily develops root rot🌬️
✨ Both materials are lightweight, affordable, easy to source, and naturally free from harmful pathogens👍

💡 OUR RECOMMENDED RATIO
👉 1 part Cocopeat : 1 part Rice Hull — perfectly balanced right as it is!
For even more vigorous growth and abundant blooms, you may add a small amount of garden soil or organic fertilizer to boost nutrient content 😊
