This is the reason that we feed the less fortunate in the Philippines based on biblical perspectives:

• Compassion for the Vulnerable: The Bible emphasizes caring for those in need, especially the poor and hungry. In Matthew 25:35-40, Jesus says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat... whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Feeding hungry children aligns with this call to serve the vulnerable as an act of serving Christ himself.

• God’s Heart for the Poor: Scripture repeatedly highlights God’s concern for the marginalized. Proverbs 19:17 states, “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done. Children in poverty, like many in the Philippines facing hunger, are a priority in God’s kingdom, and addressing their needs reflects obedience to this principle.

• The Example of Jesus: Jesus modeled compassion by feeding the hungry, as seen in the miracles of feeding the 5,000 (Matthew 14:13-21) and the 4,000 (Matthew 15:32-38). His actions demonstrate that meeting physical needs is a tangible expression of God’s love, urging believers to follow suit.

• Love Your Neighbor: The command to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31) extends to all people, including children in distant places like the Philippines. Providing food to those in need is a practical way to fulfill this commandment, transcending geographical boundaries.

• Justice and Generosity: The Bible calls for justice and generosity toward those suffering from poverty. Isaiah 58:10 encourages believers to “spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,” promising God’s blessing for such acts. Feeding hungry children addresses systemic issues of poverty and aligns with biblical justice.
