LPA Develops into Tropical Depression Julian

JUST IN: The low-pressure area (LPA) within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has intensified into Tropical Depression Julian as of 3 a.m. on Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

According to PAGASA's report, the center of Julian is located 525 km east of Itbayat, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gusts of up to 70 kph. The depression is moving north-northwestward at a speed of 15 kph. | via Jamilla Alcantara, The Truth Teller
