Graduates Cross the Stage at NORSU Bayawan-Santa Catalinaβs 2026 Commencement Exercises
A new chapter began for 1,053 graduates of Negros Oriental State University - Bayawan-Santa Catalina Campus as the university held its Commencement Exercises on June 1, 2026 at the NORSU Arena. The ceremony honored years of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance as the Class of 2026 officially received their diplomas.
The ceremony opened with a solemn academic processional, followed by the Entrance of Colors and the Philippine National Anthem. University officials, faculty, and guests filled the arena as graduates marched in to mark the culmination of their academic journey.
Dr. Francis Galon delivered the Words of Welcome, reminding graduates that βit is not just about the diploma, it is because of your perseverance.β His message set the tone for a day centered on grit and achievement, emphasizing that the journey shaped them into resilient individuals ready to take on the world.
Dr. Liza Caballero introduced the Guest Speaker, Hon. Janice V. Degamo, Congresswoman of the 3rd District of Negros Oriental, who inspired the graduates with her address. She reminded them that through hard work, perseverance, and determination, they can set their dreams higher β and change not just their lives, but their communities. βThe world needs leaders who turn challenges into opportunities,β she said, urging graduates to be agents of positive change.
Each college dean presented the number of graduates from their respective programs before the conferment of diplomas, with each college contributing to the pool of new graduates ready to serve.
The program closed with the Charge to the Graduates by Mr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, PsyD. He challenged the class of 2026 with a reminder: βSuccess is not just what you achieve, but who you become.β He encouraged the graduates to embody integrity, empathy, and courage as they step into leadership roles.
With diplomas in hand, the 1,053 new alumni of NORSU Bayawan-Santa Catalina Campus stepped forward into the next chapter, carrying with them the values of perseverance and character highlighted throughout the ceremony. The future, they were told, is theirs to shape.
