Magat dam hits critical level
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — Heavy rains in the past few weeks have raised the water elevation in Magat Dam close to its spilling level.

As of 5 p.m. on Sunday, the dam’s water level was 190.28 meters, prompting officials to release water to avoid reaching the spilling level of 193 meters.

Magat Dam is located along the borders of Isabela and Ifugao. As of yesterday, its elevation was reduced to 188.68 meters.

The dam provides water for irrigation of 96,000 hectares of farmlands in Isabela and parts of Quirino and Cagayan.

Dacayo, Cayton lead DOLE’s TUPAD payout in N. Vizcaya

SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya — Vice Governor Eufemia Dacayo and Mayor Atty. Tim Cayton in partnership with the local government unit of Solano facilitated the distribution of wages to TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced) workers in the province’s 3 municipalities on Thursday.

The beneficiaries, who received their salaries at the Tomas Dacayo Gym, are from the municipalities of Solano, Bayombong and Quezon.

In her message, Dacayo thanked Senator Christopher B**g Go for choosing displaced workers in the province as beneficiaries and providing them temporary employment and support.

Dacayo also appreciated the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for extending their assistance to address the urgent needs of displaced workers in the province.

Cayton, in his message, held Dacayo in high regards for taking much effort in seeking assistance from the office of Senator Go for the benefit of Vizcayanos.

Cayton said Dacayo's effort to address the needs of the disadvantaged workers is a manifestation of her commitment in providing emergency employment for seasonal workers.

Meanwhile, Mayor Philip Dacayo expressed his gratitude to the workers for their dedication and commitment to providing services in their respective localities.

TUPAD beneficiaries are engaged in community-based projects that address local needs, such as transport of goods, clean-up drives, and other public services.

Gov. Chavit Singson, pangunahing bisita sa Bb. Solano 2024

Inaasahan ang pagdalo ng kilalang negosyante at dating Governor ng Ilocos Sur na si Chavit Singson para sa coronation night ng Binibining Solano 2024 na gaganapin sa bayan ng Solano, Nueva Vizcaya ngayong araw (04Oct).

Ayon kay Jasper Abuan, ang provincial coordinator ni Chavit sa Nueva Vizcaya, ang pagdalaw ni Singson ay bilang tugon sa imbitasyon ng LGU Solano sa pangunguna ni Mayor Atty. Philip Dacayo.

Si Singson na kilala sa kanyang salita na "Kapag sinabi ko, Gagawin ko" ay kasalukuyang nasa Visayas subalit inihayag ng kanyang kampo na hindi niya bibiguin ang paanyaya sa kanya ng mga residente ng Solano.

Inaasahan naman ang mainit na pagsalubong sa kanya ng ibat-ibang mga opisyales, organisasyon at mga residente ng lalawigan.

Si Singson ay inindorso ng League of Municipalities of the Philippines, ibat-ibang sektor at mga organisasyon bilang candidate para senador sa 2025 subalit hindi pa ito naghahain ng kanyang COC.

Kilala si Singson sa kanyang ginagawang pagtulong sa mga nangangailangan lalo na ang mga mahihirap na pamilya.
