The Province of Tawi-Tawi celebrated its 52nd Kamahardikaan. As part of the festivities, the Provincial Government organized a marathon that started from the MBHTE Gate U-turn, passed through Sanga-Sanga Airport, and concluded at Capitol Hills as the finish line. The event drew an overwhelming crowd of not less than 1,000 enthusiastic participants, showcasing unity, sportsmanship, and the spirit of the celebration.

The Bongao Central Fire Station personnel led by SFO1 Faizal P Abdula, Team leader under the leadership of FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA, Municipal Fire Marshal, together with the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal headed by FSINSP ATTY. MOHAMMAD HUSSEIN J LADJAGAIS, Provincial Fire Marshal, joined forces with PDRRMO, MDRRMO, MOH-BARMM, and the Philippine Red Cross, proudly took part in the marathon by serving as MEDICS. Their presence ensured the safety and well-being of all runners, standing ready to provide immediate medical assistance when needed.

The Former Vice Mayor of South Ubian, Abdel-Azil A. Halun, together with FO3 Radzmil A Halun, the Municipal Fire Marshal of South Ubian Fire Station generously donated essential medicines and medical supplies to the Bongao Central Fire Station. The donation included Clarithromycin, Clindamycin, Metformin, Gliclazide, Lidocaine, Sterile Gauzes, and Syringes.

The turn-over was officially received by FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA, and FO1 Aihan Zader M Idris, Municipal EMS.

These medicines were provided by TABANG-BARMM to the former Vice Mayor of South Ubian, who, in the spirit of service and compassion, extended the support to the fire service and the community. This meaningful gesture will go a long way in helping residents, especially those in need of maintenance medicines such as Metformin for diabetes management.

The Bongao Central Fire Station sincerely appreciates this valuable contribution, which reflects a strong commitment to public health, community service, and the well-being of the people of Tawi-Tawi.

3RD QUARTER JOINT PDRRMC AND PESWMC | 11 SEPTEMBER 2025

The Bongao Central Fire Station, headed by FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA, in coordination with the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal represented by FO3 Maylin N Juhuri, under the leadership of FSINSP ATTY. MOHAMMAD HUSSEIN J LADJAGAIS, Provincial Fire Marshal, attended the 3rd Quarter Joint Meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) and the Provincial Environment and Solid Waste Management Council (PESWMC) held on September 11, 2025, at the Governor’s Conference Room, Capitol Building, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

The said meeting served as a vital platform to discuss and strengthen inter-agency collaboration in addressing pressing concerns related to disaster preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery, as well as sustainable environmental management and solid waste governance. It was highlighted during the session that effective disaster risk reduction and sound environmental practices are essential in ensuring the safety, health, and resilience of the people of Tawi-Tawi.

The gathering was actively participated in by various national and local agencies and stakeholders, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD), Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), the Office of the Congressman, and the Philippine Red Cross, among others. Their presence reflected a strong sense of unity and shared responsibility in building a safer, more resilient, and environmentally sustainable province.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) headed by Al-Gibran I Amilasan, RN, MPA, AEMT, together with the Bongao Central Fire Station under the leadership of FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA, Municipal Fire Marshal, and supervised by FSINSP ATTY. MOHAMMAD HUSSEIN J LADJAGAIS , Provincial Fire Marshal, in partnership with other line agencies, successfully conducted the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2025 at Boloboc Science and Technology High School, Barangay Boloboc, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

This activity forms part of the government’s continuing effort to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience in schools and communities. The drill was actively participated in by the faculty, staff, and students of Boloboc Science and Technology High School, who demonstrated their commitment to safety by seriously observing proper evacuation procedures, drop-cover-hold techniques, and organized movement towards designated safe zones. Their active cooperation reflects the importance of instilling disaster awareness and readiness.

The presence and support of various line agencies made the activity even more significant. Each agency contributed its expertise and resources, ensuring the smooth and realistic ex*****on of the earthquake drill.

FO1 Idun Nahar M Mandaling, Emergency Medical Service (EMS) staff of Bongao Central Fire Station, under the leadership of FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA responded to a vehicular accident at Barangay Luuk Pandan, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, while on his way home despite being off duty.

Based on accounts from eyewitnesses, the victim collided with a goat while driving his motorcycle, which resulted in the accident.

FO1 Mandaling promptly administered first aid, immobilized the suspected fracture, cleaned the wounds, and coordinated for the transport of the victim to the hospital for further medical care.

FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA, the Municipal Fire Marshal of Bongao Central Fire Station, formally rendered a courtesy call to FSSUPT KADIL TURANI ACALUL, DSC, Regional Director of the Bureau of Fire Protection – BARMM.

The courtesy visit served as a significant avenue to strengthen professional ties and enhance coordination between the Municipal Fire Station and the Regional Office.

Among the topics highlighted were the enhancement of operational readiness, the strengthening of local fire prevention programs, and the active involvement of the Bureau in community-based initiatives aimed at protecting lives and properties.

Highlighting the occasion, FINSP KAMLIAN personally brought one (1) unit of Automated External Defibrillator (AED), a life-saving medical device provided by the Regional Office to Bongao Central Fire Station. This equipment symbolizes not only the support of the BFP Regional Office to its local stations but also its commitment to safeguarding lives during fire incidents, medical emergencies, and rescue operations. The provision of the AED will significantly improve the station’s emergency response capabilities, ensuring that immediate and effective life-saving interventions can be carried out when needed.
