FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA, the Municipal Fire Marshal of Bongao Central Fire Station, formally rendered a courtesy call to FSSUPT KADIL TURANI ACALUL, DSC, Regional Director of the Bureau of Fire Protection – BARMM.

The courtesy visit served as a significant avenue to strengthen professional ties and enhance coordination between the Municipal Fire Station and the Regional Office.

Among the topics highlighted were the enhancement of operational readiness, the strengthening of local fire prevention programs, and the active involvement of the Bureau in community-based initiatives aimed at protecting lives and properties.

Highlighting the occasion, FINSP KAMLIAN personally brought one (1) unit of Automated External Defibrillator (AED), a life-saving medical device provided by the Regional Office to Bongao Central Fire Station. This equipment symbolizes not only the support of the BFP Regional Office to its local stations but also its commitment to safeguarding lives during fire incidents, medical emergencies, and rescue operations. The provision of the AED will significantly improve the station’s emergency response capabilities, ensuring that immediate and effective life-saving interventions can be carried out when needed.

FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA, Municipal Fire Marshal of Bongao Central Fire Station, together with SFO1 Faizal P Abdula, Deputy Municipal Fire Marshal and personnel from OPFM SFO1 Rosevie R Asdala and FO3 Jerry A Nasilin successfully attended the Incident Command System (ICS) Executive Course organized by the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) in partnership with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

The ICS Executive Course is a specialized training designed for leaders and decision-makers in government and emergency response agencies. It equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage disasters, large-scale emergencies, and complex incidents through a standardized command structure. The course emphasizes the importance of unity of command, clear communication, proper resource management, and inter-agency coordination in order to ensure an efficient and timely response during crises.

Monkeys in Bud Bongao are protected under Philippine environmental laws. They must not be harmed, hunted, or disturbed, as doing so violates the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act (Republic Act No. 9147).

Under R.A. 9147, it is strictly unlawful to kill, hunt, or inflict injury upon any form of wildlife, including the monkeys that inhabit Bud Bongao. Those found guilty of committing such offenses shall face serious consequences such as imprisonment and/or monetary fines, depending on the severity of the violation.

We therefore call on the Municipal Government of Bongao to take this matter seriously and strictly enforce the law. Those who harm or exploit these animals must be held accountable, so that others may learn from the consequences and be deterred from committing the same offense.

Under the leadership of FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, Bongao Central Fire Station successfully held a team building activity in partnership with the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal and joined by the off-duty personnel of Languyan Fire Station, Sibutu Fire Station, Panglima Sugala Fire Station, and South Ubian Fire Station.

This meaningful event was organized not only to provide a well-deserved break from the daily demands of duty but also to strengthen camaraderie, enhance teamwork, and foster a spirit of unity among the men and women of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Tawi-Tawi. Through various fun and engaging activities, participants were able to build stronger bonds, promote mutual trust, and cultivate a deeper sense of cooperation essential to their service.

The occasion also became a fitting moment to honor and celebrate the recent promotion of FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, a leader recognized for his dedication, professionalism. The entire team of Bongao Central Fire Station, under the leadership of FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA, Municipal Fire Marshal, extends its heartfelt congratulations to Fire Officer 1 Nuradzma S Alih for successfully completing the Fire Basic Recruit Course (FBRC) Class 2025-133 “PASINDAWAN.”

With unwavering determination, passion, and excellence, FO1 Alih earned 4th Place Overall in her class, achieving an outstanding general average of 92.3149%. Moreover, she secured the Highest Rating in Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) with an exceptional score of 99.3306%, and emerged as the Top Performer in Echo Company — a true testament to her hard work, discipline, and commitment to the noble service of saving lives.

Her accomplishments not only bring pride and honor to her name and family, but also reflect the caliber and dedication of the brave men and women representing BFP Tawi-Tawi, particularly Bongao Central Fire Station.

The Bongao Central Fire Station, under the leadership of FINSP WAGNER A KAMLIAN, MPA, the Municipal Fire Marshal, participated in the recently conducted Bigkis Laya Criminology Intern Reception Rites held at the Tawi-Tawi Regional Agricultural College (TRAC). The activity was led by SFO1 Faizal P Abdula, Deputy Municipal Fire Marshal, along with the Bongao Central Fire Station Personnel.

As part of the Bureau of Fire Protection’s commitment to supporting community-based events and youth development, the fire station provided Emergency Medical Services (EMS) assistance to ensure the health and safety of all participants throughout the event. In addition to the EMS support, the team also facilitated a ceremonial water shower, a symbolic gesture to welcome the criminology interns into a new phase of their academic and professional journey.

The event was spearheaded by Mr. Ryxson L. Hamsan, RCrim, MCJE, Dean of the College of Criminology, in coordination with the leadership of Dr. Hja. Sitti Amina J. Mohammad, SUC President I of TRAC. This momentous occasion marked a significant milestone for criminology students as they transition from academic learning into practical field exposure and training.
