𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐉𝐔𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐄 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

With grateful hearts, we gather as one pilgrim Church to mark the solemn closing of the Jubilee Year 2025. Having journeyed together as Pilgrims of Hope, we return to the altar to give thanks for the grace, mercy, and renewal poured out upon our Diocese throughout this sacred time.

Let us come together in prayer and thanksgiving at the Eucharistic Celebration and Rite of Closing of the Jubilee Year, entrusting all that we have lived and received into the hands of the Lord, who remains our hope yesterday, today, and forever.

“Hope does not disappoint.” (Romans 5:5)

𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐘

The Third Day of Misa de Gallo was prayerfully celebrated at Agusan del Norte Provincial Jail Chapel, with the Holy Mass presided by Most Rev. Cosme Damian R. Almedilla, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Butuan.

In his homily, Rev. Erwin Semaña, Deacon, offered a message that resonated deeply with the Advent journey and the story of St. Joseph:

“Ang Diyos wala mihukom dayon kang Jose; gihatagan siya og kahayag ug bag-ong panan-aw. Mao usab kini ang buhaton sa Diyos kaninyo. Ang prisohan dili katapusan sa istorya, usa ra kini ka chapter. Ang Diyos nagtan-aw dili lang sa inyong kagahapon, kondili sa unsa pa ang mahimo ninyo sa umaabot.”

May this Advent celebration renew our trust in God who does not give up on anyone and who always opens new paths of light, even in the most difficult places.

We celebrate today the Presbyteral Ordination Anniversary of REV. FR. GERARDO CHATTO, Jr.

PRAYER:
Father, you endowed John of the Cross with a spirit of self-denial and a love of the cross. By following his example, may we come to the eternal vision of your glory. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, you Son, who live and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
