one night, habang nag-i-scroll ako sa feed ko, napadpad ako sa profile ng best friend ko. i paused for a second when i saw the “add friend” button instead of “friends.” parang may kumurot sa dibdib ko, pero imbes na magtanong o maghabol ng reason, i just smiled at maluwag kong tinanggap.

siguro kasi hindi lahat ng pag-alis kailangan ng paliwanag, and sometimes ‘yung tahimik na pagkawala ng isang tao sa paligid mo means closure. maybe some bonds are just meant to teach us lessons, not to last forever.

i’ve learned to accept na hindi lahat ng friends ko will stay by my side and they will outgrow me, and that’s okay, kasi ganun talaga ang growth na minsan kailangan mong tanggapin na parte ng pagbabago ang maghiwalay ng path.

Papa’s laughter isn’t as loud as it used to be.
Mama’s steps are slower now, her hands softer, her eyes deeper.
The house still hums with love — but the rhythm has changed.
The clock on the wall keeps ticking,
steady and unforgiving.

I used to race against time,
chasing dreams, chasing life.
But lately, I find myself pausing —
watching Papa fix the same chair he’s fixed a hundred times,
watching Mama fold the laundry with a care only love can teach.

Their wrinkles are the map of every sacrifice,
their smiles — the proof of every prayer answered.
And as the sun sets a little earlier each day,
I whisper the only prayer that matters:

“Lord, please give me time —
enough to give back,
enough to hold their hands longer,
enough to say thank You
for every moment they gave me
without asking for anything in return.”

Because one day,
the clock will stop ticking.
And I just hope
my love will echo loud enough
to fill the silence they leave behind.

Rest in Peace, Emman Atienza 🕊️

The heartbreaking passing of 19-year-old influencer Emman Atienza reminds us how important it is to talk about mental health — not just when it’s trending, but every single day. 💔

Emman was open about her struggles since she was young. She used her platform to bring comfort and courage to others fighting silent battles. Her story reminds us that even those who seem strong, cheerful, or successful may be hurting inside.

Let’s honor her memory by showing more kindness, more listening, and more compassion to those around us. You never know what someone is going through.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out — to a friend, a counselor, or a mental health hotline. You are not alone. 💚
