📌TAKE A BREAK

In today's fast-paced world, we often find ourselves caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. We are constantly pushing ourselves to meet deadlines, achieve goals, and fulfill expectations. However, amidst all this, it's crucial to remember that "You deserve some rest".

Rest is not a luxury, but a necessity. Our bodies and minds are not machines; they need time to recharge and rejuvenate. Therefore, "Don't forget to recharge". Taking time off from our busy schedules to relax and unwind is not a sign of weakness, but a testament to our understanding of our own needs.

Approximately 800,000 people die by su***de each year. That's one person every 40 seconds. Women are more likely to have depression than men. An estimated 3.8% of the population experience depression, including 5% of adults (4% among men and 6% among women), and 5.7% of adults older than 60 years. Approximately 280 million people in the world have depression. Although there are different rates of su***des and suicidal behavior between males and females (among both adults and adolescents). While females more often have suicidal thoughts, males die by su***de more frequently.

Mental health issues do not simply surround women but also men. Due to societal norms about men like emotional control and self-reliance, men often keep everything to themselves in order for them to be seen as masculine by the society. Thus, making them more vulnerable to mental health issues.

Men should be encouraged in seeking help and opening up regarding their mental health struggles without any judgement. For a safe and inclusive space to be created for everyone, one must show understanding, acceptance, and support to each other's own journeys.

There are so many misconceptions surrounding mental health and here are some ways we can work together to reduce these stigmas:

•Education and Awareness: We can promote education and awareness about mental health through school programs.
— Schools can hold meetings or symposiums regarding the importance of raising mental health awareness.

•Share Personal Stories: Encourage individuals to share stories about their experience in mental health.
— Individuals sharing their journeys can encourage other people who are afraid or shy to seek help in regards to their mental health struggles.

•Support Services: Increase access to mental health by supporting services, including counseling, and therapy.
— Promoting these services can help in giving advice and lessen the burdens or struggles of people regarding their mental health.

•Empathy and Understanding: Offering support to those struggling with mental health challenges, understand and listen to them without any judgement.
— Offering support to those struggling with their mental health can create a safe and inclusive space for everyone especially to those who are afraid of seeking help.

•Lead by Example: Be open about your own experience on mental health and encourage others to do the same.
— Being open minded about our own mental health journeys and encouraging others to do the same can help promote understanding, acceptance, and support to each and everyone, whether struggling or not.

18th of December ❤️

Christmas is a stressful time for most but there is no need to stress over it. If you can't afford to by presents don't. If you can't afford to cater for people then don't. All of it isn't worth your stress. Be happy at Christmas.
