TREND MAKER. Mindanao Gold Star Daily was established in 1989 to set ablaze a new meaning and flame to the local newspaper business. Throughout the years it continued its focus and interest in the rural areas and pioneered the growth of countryside journalism.

IT’S VISION. Mr. Ernesto G. Chu, President Emeritus and Founder of The Mindanao Gold Star Daily Corporation envisioned making use of the Mindanao Gold Star Daily as a vehicle in carrying out an active role in the promotion of countryside development in the islands of Mindanao. The Mindanao Gold Star Daily desires that Mindanao be made known not only as a Muslim area laden with some socio-political conflicts but as a peace loving people. Mindanao is rich with its culture and heritage, vast land area being idled and the local folks find that to improve ones lives and to look for greener pasture in Manila or in other progressive cities in the country or work abroad, a situation that is addressed by Mindanao Gold Star Daily by promoting Mindanao in its local paper that will ignite investors to come in.

STRENGTH. The Mindanao Gold Star Daily is the only daily community newspaper that has a wide distribution network in the island of Mindanao.
