On May 7, 2011, Manny Pacquiao retained his WBO Welterweight title with a dominant unanimous decision victory over three-division champion Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand Arena. Rapper LL Cool J accompanied Mosley’s entrance, while Jimi Jamison of Survivor performed “Eye of the Tiger” as Pacquiao walked to the ring. In the third round, Pacquiao dropped Mosley with a sharp one-two combination capped by a left straight, leaving Mosley dazed but able to continue. In the tenth round, Mosley pushed Pacquiao to the canvas, which referee Kenny Bayless mistakenly ruled a knockdown. Replays showed Mosley had stepped on Pacquiao’s foot while he was off balance. Bayless later apologized for the error. The judges scored the bout overwhelmingly in Pacquiao’s favor: 119–108, 120–108, and 120–107. Pacquiao cited leg cramps as the reason he couldn’t finish Mosley, an issue trainer Freddie Roach noted had previously occurred only during training. After the fight, controversy arose when Mosley allegedly told Floyd Mayweather that he should have made Pacquiao "take the test," referencing ongoing drug testing debates.
