The Opol Community College TESDA team, represented by Dr. Neilson Bation, College President, Ms. Odette Galangke, TESDA Focal Person, and Dr. Rogelyn Abubacar, Director of the Center for Student Development and Leadership, recently visited the TESDA Regional Office to discuss plans for offering short courses at OCC. The meeting focused on forging a partnership to enhance educational opportunities for the community, with the goal of launching these programs in the near future.
The team was warmly received by RD Rafael Abrogar II, Regional Director, and Mr. Joseph Rod Logon, Regional Operations Division, who expressed their support for the initiative. This collaboration is expected to provide valuable skill development opportunities and contribute to the region's workforce development.
This activity aligns primarily with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. The collaboration between OCC and TESDA aims to enhance educational opportunities by offering short courses, supporting the goal of ensuring inclusive, equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. It also contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by providing skill development opportunities that support workforce growth and improve employment prospects in the local community.
