Nagpapaalala Gender and Development Calamba City Local Media Board (CCLMB) sa mga pulitikong kakandidato sa darating na eleksyon na iwasan ang mga salitang di kaaya-aya sa mga kababaihan lalo na sa panahon ng kampanyahan, gaya ng mga green jokes , double meaning na mga salitang nakakabastos na sa mga kababaihan.
Ito ay matapos mag viral sa social media at umani ng batikos ang video ng isang pulitiko sa Bicol habang nagbibitaw ito ng kanyang mga pick- up lines. Hindi ito nagustuhan ng taong bayan dahil sa ipinakitang asal ng pulitikong matagal na sa panunungkulan.
Agad naming nagbigay ng pahayag ang Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) hinggil sa isyung ito.

The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) expresses grave concern on the recent video circulating on social media, in which a public official makes inappropriate and sexually demeaning remarks that perpetuate harmful stereotypes about women. Such behavior reflects a disturbing disregard for the fundamental values of respect, equality, and human dignity. These remarks not only undermine progress toward gender equality but also contribute to a culture of discrimination that the PCW is dedicated to dismantling.
There is no acceptable context for comments that objectify or degrade womenโwhether in a celebratory setting or otherwise. Public officials must recognize the power their words hold, especially when addressing the public. Remarks made on public platforms shape societal norms and attitudes, making it critical that these platforms are used responsibly to promote respect, not harm.
The PCW reminds all public servants and citizens that womenโs rights are protected under the Magna Carta of Women and other laws that uphold equality and justice. Discriminatory and derogatory remarks not only violate these legal protections but also foster a mindset that tolerates gender-based discrimination and violence. It is the responsibility of every Filipino, particularly public officials, to cultivate a culture of respect and equality.
We thank the concerned citizens and sectors who have spoken out against this harmful behavior. This incident serves as a critical reminder of the need for vigilance in holding public officials accountable for their actions and words.
