Libreng Serbisyong Medikal, Hatid ni Sol Aragones sa Cabuyao, Laguna

Cabuyao, Laguna – Daang-daang residente ang nakinabang sa libreng serbisyong medikal na isinagawa sa lungsod ng Cabuyao, sa pangunguna ni Gubernatorial Sol Aragones. Kasama niya sa programang ito si Laguna Board Member Christian Aguillo, gayundin ang iba pang opisyal ng lalawigan.

Sa ilalim ng programang ito, iba't ibang libreng serbisyong medikal ang naihatid sa mga mamamayan, kabilang ang konsultasyong medikal, dental check-up, at pamamahagi ng libreng gamot. Ang inisyatibong ito ay naisakatuparan sa tulong ng programang pangkawanggawa ni Senator Alan Peter Cayetano at ng kanyang pamilya, na patuloy na sumusuporta sa mga proyektong pangkalusugan sa bansa.

Dahil sa tagumpay ng programang ito, inaasahang magpapatuloy pa ang ganitong mga inisyatiba sa iba't ibang bahagi ng Laguna upang mas maraming mamamayan ang makinabang sa libreng serbisyong medikal.

Mayor Arlene Arcillas led the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) in Santa Rosa, Laguna, on March 13. Government agencies, students, private businesses, and residents participated, practicing the "duck, cover, and hold" procedure and emergency response drills.

Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno, along with other key officials, emphasized the importance of preparedness, especially for the anticipated "Big One." Mayor Arcillas reaffirmed the city's commitment to disaster readiness through continuous training programs.

The drill also included rescue simulations for CALABARZON, NCR, and MIMAROPA, highlighting the government's efforts to enhance public awareness and emergency response coordination.

Rep. Magsino Commits to Continuing Support for Overseas Filipinos in Distress

MALVAR, Batangas (March 11) – Representative Marissa del Mar-Magsino of the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Partylist has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Filipinos abroad who face distressing situations, pledging to continue advocating for their welfare.

Speaking before the Women Empowerment (WE) sector leaders in Malvar, Batangas, Magsino shared the challenges faced by many Filipinos working overseas. She emphasized that working abroad is far from ideal for many, with countless workers suffering from abusive employers, poor working conditions, and illegal recruitment practices.

Rep. Magsino highlighted the pivotal role the OFW Partylist has played in ensuring that Filipinos in distress receive immediate attention. She noted that, since being elected to the House of Representatives, the partylist has been instrumental in addressing the needs of overseas workers and providing them with essential support, such as repatriation when necessary.

Magsino stressed the importance of strong government representation to facilitate coordination between local and foreign authorities, ensuring that Filipinos in distress receive timely assistance and protection.

According to the Stratbase-SWS February 15-19 Partylist Survey, OFW Partylist is already assured of one seat in the House of Representatives. The partylist still has the potential to secure another seat in the upcoming May 12, 2025 elections, with ample time for campaigning.

Rep. Magsino welcomed this development, particularly because now overseas Filipinosare allowed to participate in the elections through online voting. She encouraged them to take advantage of the COMELEC Voting Portal, which is now open for pre-registration, allowing voters to cast their ballots from abroad using their smartphones or laptops. The overseas voting period will run from April 13, 2025, to May 12, 2025, lasting 30 days.

A native of Batangas, Rep. Magsino reiterated her dedication to uplifting the lives of overseas Filipino workers and their families, ensuring that their concerns are addressed at the national level.
