𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐆𝐀𝐒, 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐎 𝐃𝐄𝐋 𝐒𝐔𝐑 — The Municipality of Calanogas has been recognized for its outstanding performance in the implementation of key governance and public safety programs under the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG)–Lanao del Sur Provincial Field Office.

The recognition was conferred during the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫, held on 4 August 2026 at the Social Hall of the Lanao del Sur Provincial Capitol, Marawi City, with the theme “Celebrating Local Excellence, Advancing Public Service.”

Calanogas was recognized for its exemplary implementation of three critical governance mechanisms: 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (𝐏𝐎𝐂), 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐂) and 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 (𝐋𝐂𝐀𝐓-𝐕𝐀𝐖𝐂).

Adding distinction to the occasion, 𝐑𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐀. 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐠, focal person of the Municipality of Calanogas, received Certificates of Recognition for her exemplary service and valuable contributions to the effective implementation of these programs.

The recognition reflects the Municipality’s continuing commitment to responsive governance, institutional accountability, peace and security, public safety, and the protection of vulnerable sectors—principles that remain fundamental to building resilient and inclusive communities.

Under the leadership of 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐦 𝐀. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨, the Municipality of Calanogas remains steadfast in strengthening local institutions and advancing a culture of competent, accountable, and people-centered public service.

In a strong demonstration of solidarity and compassion, the Municipality of Calanogas welcomed the 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦, representing the 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 "𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐠" 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐆𝐨, during their courtesy visit and humanitarian mission for families affected by the recent landslide and fire incidents. As part of the assistance initiative, the Office of Senator B**g Go, through the Malasakit Team, distributed cash assistance and other essential support to disaster-affected families, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to providing immediate relief and helping communities recover from the devastating effects of calamities.

Joining the humanitarian effort was the 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨, headed by the 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐀𝐭𝐚𝐫, which likewise extended relief goods and cash assistance to the affected families. This meaningful gesture reflects the Sultanate's enduring tradition of compassion, unity, and service to the people of Ranao.

The Municipality also expresses its sincere appreciation to the 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐢 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐧 for extending humanitarian assistance through the distribution of relief goods to all families affected by the recent landslide and fire incidents. The Municipal Government of Calanogas extends its heartfelt gratitude to the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Region XII-B, Lanao Area—Settlement Division, for its timely humanitarian assistance to the Municipality following the recent landslide incident.

On August 3, 2026, NCMF conducted relief distribution assistance for families affected by the landslide, providing essential support to help alleviate the challenges faced by affected households as they continue their recovery.

Beyond the relief assistance for affected families, NCMF also extended support to Madrasah institutions in all barangays of the Municipality of Calanogas, reaffirming its commitment to promoting Islamic education and ensuring that these learning institutions continue to serve their communities.

The Municipality of Calanogas sincerely appreciates NCMF's compassion, generosity, and dedication to serving Muslim communities, especially during times of adversity. This initiative stands as a testament to the power of partnership and collective action in fostering resilience and hope.

In preparation for the 2026 BARMM Parliamentary Elections, the Municipality of Calanogas successfully conducted the Voters’ Education and Information Activity at the Municipal Gymnasium. The activity aimed to equip registered voters with essential knowledge on the parliamentary electoral system, proper voting procedures, and their rights and responsibilities as voters.

The activity was spearheaded by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC)–Bangsamoro Electoral Office, in coordination with the Office of the Acting Municipal Election Officer, Ansari C. Macapundag, together with the COMELEC team.

The Local Government Unit of Calanogas expresses its full support for COMELEC's voter education initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to promoting an informed electorate and encouraging every registered voter to actively participate in a peaceful, orderly, and credible electoral process.

Their presence during this period of mourning reflects a profound sense of compassion and solidarity with the people of Calanogas. By taking the time to meet with the bereaved families and listen to their stories, they demonstrated that the suffering of affected communities is shared by the entire nation.

The Municipality of Calanogas convened the Joint Meeting of the MPOC and MDRRMC to discuss updates and response measures following the recent landslide incident. The meeting served as a platform to strengthen coordination among government agencies and stakeholders in addressing the needs of affected families and ensuring the continuous implementation of recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
Discussions included the latest disaster and health situation reports, ongoing search and rescue operations, humanitarian assistance, support for hospitalized and bereaved families, assessment of affected establishments and farmers, and the enhancement of inter-agency coordination and communication during emergencies. The Municipality of Calanogas remains committed to fostering partnership, solidarity, and resilience as it continues its recovery efforts for all affected families.

In a continuing demonstration of solidarity and compassion for the families affected by the recent landslide in the Municipality of Calanogas, humanitarian assistance was extended through the initiative of the 𝑴𝒈𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒂 𝑩𝒂𝒆 𝒌𝒐 𝑷𝒂𝒕 𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒂 𝑹𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒐 , headed by 𝗕𝗮𝗲 𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗶 𝘀𝗮 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗔. 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼.

The assistance included relief goods from the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗣 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵 “𝗖𝗺𝗱𝗿. 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗼” 𝗚. 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗮𝗿 to support the immediate needs of affected families. Additional interventions were also provided by the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗣 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱 "𝗞𝘆𝗹𝗲" 𝗠. 𝗛𝗮𝗱𝗷𝗶 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵, including relief goods, cash assistance for bereaved families who lost loved ones in the tragedy, and the provision of one (1) Power Tiller intended to assist local farmers, particularly families directly affected by the loss of their loved ones.

The Municipality of Calanogas extends its sincere appreciation to all individuals and institutions whose generosity and commitment continue to bring hope and relief to communities during this difficult time. These collective efforts reflect the enduring spirit of Bayanihan and reaffirm our shared responsibility in helping affected families recover and rebuild.

🤝 HOPE IN ACTION. COMPASSION THAT REACHES EVERY HOME.

In times of disaster, true leadership is defined by action, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to serve.

The Local Government Unit of Calanogas, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Abdul Hakim A. Benito, in partnership with MSSD-BARMM through our Municipal Social Welfare Officer, Ma'am Rohane Sarip, Calanogas RHU, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), successfully distributed hygiene kits and food packs to families affected by the recent landslide.

Beyond the distribution of relief assistance, Hon. Mayor Abdul Hakim A. Benito, together with Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Macapado A. Benito, Jr., Former Municipal Health Officer of Calanogas, Bai a Labi sa Ganassi Dra. Raquelina A. Benito, and Former Municipal Mayor of Calanogas, Sultan sa Maguindanao Engr. Macapado M. Benito, Sr., personally went from house to house to visit affected families. They listened to their concerns, checked on their condition, and assured them that the Municipal Government remains steadfast in providing the support and assistance they need throughout their recovery.

More than delivering essential supplies, this humanitarian effort carries a powerful message: no one will be left behind. Every visit, every helping hand, and every act of kindness reflects our shared commitment to stand with our people as they rebuild their lives.
