A ROMANTIC ESCAPE TO KHAO YAI THIANG
If you're looking for a quick and romantic getaway from Bangkok, Khao Yai Thiang in Nakhon Ratchasima is the perfect spot especially at sunset.
The atmosphere is peaceful and scenic, ideal for couples or anyone wanting to enjoy nature and a beautiful view.
Getting around the area is simple and affordable. You can hop on a songthaew (local truck transport) for just 30 baht per person, which takes you to various scenic spots in about 5 minutes.
For something more personal and fun, consider renting a bike: 40 baht for a single or 80 baht for a double (perfect for couples).
Riding along the ridge gives you stunning views of the lake, mountains, and wind turbines, all especially magical during sunset.
The bike rental shops only accept cash, but don’t worry if you forgot to bring any, some nearby stores offer bank transfer-to-cash services with only a 10 baht fee. It’s super convenient and a thoughtful touch for travelers.
Inside the area, you'll find restaurants offering food, drinks, snacks, and even souvenirs, everything you need for a relaxed afternoon.
To make your trip even more special, we recommend visiting Phulandao Café, just 15 minutes away. The view there is stunning, and the food is just as impressive.
We also noticed several other restaurants along the way, including Japanese options, which we’re already planning to try on our next visit.
