Meta experienced a major outage that affected Facebook, Facebook Messenger, and the Facebook website. Many users were automatically logged out and were unable to sign back in, receiving error messages stating that an unexpected error had occurred. The Facebook website also displayed a notice saying the company was aware of the issue and working to resolve it.

Other Meta services, including Instagram and WhatsApp, remained mostly operational, although some Instagram web features experienced disruptions. Meta’s business status page had not been updated to reflect the outage at the time.

According to outage tracker Downdetector, reports of problems surged at approximately between 9:30PM - 9:45 PM Philippine Standard Time (PST/UTC+8), with users worldwide reporting issues across Facebook products. Downdetector itself also appeared to experience technical problems around the same time.
