Some people view children as a responsibility and understandably so. Parenting demands commitment, patience, and sacrifice. Not everyone feels ready for that. But I consider myself blessed beyond measure to be a parent.

I can't imagine my life without my kids. They are the crayons that bring color to the blank pages of my life, the oil pastels that bring richness to my canvas. Because of them, I refuse to give up. Because of them, I've learned to love myself more.

My children have given me purpose. They've made me appreciate not just my role as a parent but also the challenges that come with it. While it's often said that parents are meant to teach their children, I've learned far more from my kids than I ever imagined.

My life is more colorful, more rewarding, and more fulfilling because they are in it.

We are often judged simply because we're different. We may not always make eye contact. We don't follow instructions the first time without repetition. We rarely want to play with others, we prefer playing alone. We study and learn in our own way, sometimes in ways that seem difficult to others. We struggle, we learn every day, and we do our best to adjust to what the world calls "normal."

But no matter how much we adapt, our autism traits remain a part of us. We stim. We shout. We laugh at things only we find funny. And sometimes, we cry for reasons only we truly understand.

Today, we exceeded another expectation. Kaiden is learning to write down his tasks and set priorities. And that's something worth celebrating. It means he understands structure, responsibility, and the kinds of lessons we always try to teach them.

We are autistic, we understand and we organize. ゚

Yesterday was all sleep and water. I was completely wiped out after a week that drained me mentally and physically. Plus, this flu? Yes, it's doing the worst. But today, I had to pull myself together because the laundry wasn't just calling, it was screaming. 🥹😆 ゚
