Festival of Festivals limited to 15 contingents, ₱20M budget

The Cebu Capitol will hold the Festival of Festivals with a maximum of 15 participating contingents under a total budget of ₱20 million.

Each contingent gets ₱1 million in subsidy; island towns Bantayan and Camotes will receive ₱1.5 million each. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and the event will be canceled if fewer than 15 sign up.

Governor Pamela Baricuatro clarified this is not the same as the previous Pasigarbo sa Sugbo, which cost ₱255 million in 2024. The event will be held at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Cebu launches first province-led transport subsidy

The Province of Cebu introduced the country’s first province-run public transport subsidy program, “Tabang Pangbyahe,” on Wednesday, June 17.

Signed via MOA with DOTr and LTFRB at the Cebu South Bus Terminal, the initiative has a P20-million budget. It aims to provide commuters safer, more reliable bus services while helping operators meet higher standards. Governor Pamela Baricuatro and key transport officials led the signing.

CA voids suspension over river desilting permit; Garcia’s emergency action upheld

The Court of Appeals has invalidated the Ombudsman’s suspension order against former Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, which stemmed from a desilting permit granted amid the 2024 El Niño-induced water shortage. The ruling found the suspension legally flawed, while a prior decision already confirmed there was no misconduct in her response to the emergency.

Over 3,000 Patients Benefited as Cong. Van Van’s DOH-MAIFIP Allocation Hits ₱63.3 Million

​Consistently delivering on the promise of Programa, Serbisyo, Proyekto, the office of Congresswoman Van Van has successfully facilitated a total of ₱63.3 million in medical assistance through the Department of Health’s Medical Assistance for Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (DOH-MAIFIP) program from 2025 to the first quarter of 2026.

​Congresswoman Van Van’s office reiterated its commitment to ensuring that no constituent is left behind when it comes to healthcare. The steady rollout of these funds highlights a streamlined system dedicated to swift public service, making healthcare less of a financial burden for indigent families.

​"Our goal remains clear: to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to every single constituent, especially during unexpected medical emergencies. This is the heart of our Programa, Serbisyo, Proyekto," the office stated.

Isip usa ka UNESCO Global Geopark, kini usa ka mutya sa kalikupan nga angay natong panalipdan alang sa mosunod nga mga henerasyon. Bohol reviews successful Japan-Bohol chartered flights; eyes regular air link

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Provincial officials led by Governor Erico Aris Aumentado held a consultation meeting to review the outcome of the recent direct chartered flights from Narita, Japan to Bohol.

Representatives from JTB Asia Pacific Philippines Corporation (Cebu and Japan offices), Aboitiz InfraCapital, Bohol Beach Club, Loboc River Resort, Best Western Plus The Ivywall Resort-Panglao, and the Bohol Alliance of Travel and Tour Operators (BATTO) visited the Provincial Capitol to share updates and plans.

During the meeting, the group expressed gratitude for the successful operation of the maiden direct chartered service. They also relayed positive feedback from Japanese tourists, who commended Bohol’s natural beauty, attractions, and overall travel experience.

Discussions also covered plans for additional chartered flights in the coming months, with the shared goal of eventually establishing regular commercial flights between Japan and Bohol.

Receiving the delegation were Vice Governor Nick Besas, Chief of Staff Atty. Filipina Asoy-Piollo, Bohol Provincial Tourism Office Officer-in-Charge Joanne Pinat, and BATTO President Lourdes Sultan.

Governor Aumentado welcomed the encouraging remarks, noting that the strong response from Japanese travelers paves the way for more international visitors to discover Bohol.

“We are pleased with this positive feedback. We hope this initiative will bring more tourists from other countries to visit and explore the beauty of our province,” the Governor said.

Alang kang Dr. Nikki Catalan, ang peso health consultant sa Kapitolyo sa Sugbo kinsa ang nagpasaka sa reklamo, dili lang kini bahin sa iyang kaugalingong katungod—kini usa ka pakigbisog alang sa tanang kababayen-an nga nakasinati og kasakit, pagpakaulaw, paglapas sa ilang dignidad, ug bisan unsang matang sa pag-abuso.

Matod pa ni Dr. Catalan, gipasaka niya ang maong kaso alang kini sa matag babaye, buhi man o namatay na, nga nasakitan, gipakaulawan, gilapas, o gipasakitan ni Byron Garcia ug sa uban pang parehas kaniya og taras.
