Northern Samar Colleges, Incorporated officially closed its 76th Founding Anniversary with a dazzling and unforgettable victory ball that lit up the campus and brought each student closer together in a moment of celebration.

After a week of various competitions—from athletic performances and mind games to the touch of music and the rhythm of dance—the victory ball stood as the finale, a moment that celebrated the hardships and achievements of the students.

The atmosphere buzzed with laughter, applause, and genuine support as classmates and faculty members greeted each other after a week-long event. The event began with a warm welcome from the school’s principal, Sir Manuel I. Lipata, followed by a cute and lively production number performed by the elementary pupils.

Awards and recognitions were also an important segment of the night. Outstanding players, performers, and high-spirited students were highly recognized for their cooperation and participation in various school competitions, earning massive cheers and applause as each individual showcased their spectacular talent, hard work, and dedication.

As the night came to a close, the victory ball left everyone with a sense of warmth, honor, and fulfillment as they celebrated 76 years of excellence. Perhaps the most memorable element of the party was the unity it created among faculty and students—creating new friendships that extend beyond classrooms and hallways into memories of a lifetime.

𝐍𝐒𝐂 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐔𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡

𝘾𝘼𝙏𝘼𝙍𝙈𝘼𝙉, 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙧 — Senior High School students and Junior High School students of Northern Samar Colleges gathered at the school quadrangle for a 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
aimed at strengthening faith and encouraging reflection during the Lenten season.

The activity brought together Grade 10, Grade 11, and Grade 12 students, with the support of faith-based organizations including the Women for Christ/Mother Butler Guild, Christian Youth in Action, and Barkada Para Kay Kristo (BPKK). The program was hosted by emcees, 1 Shanedra Jane O. Balleta and Gem Crystal H. Moreno.

The recollection began at around 3:00 PM with a worship session led by the Women for Christ/Mother Butler Guild. Students were also given the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Confession, allowing them time for personal reflection and reconciliation.

At about 4:30 PM, Rev. Fr. Jarb Balanquit delivered a reflection on the significance of the Lenten season, emphasizing that it is a time for reflection, renewal, and reconciliation. His message was followed by sharing sessions from members of the Women for Christ and several students.

An Anticipated Sunday Pontifical Eucharistic Celebration was later held at around 6:00 PM, presided over by Bishop Emeritus Emmanuel Trance. He was joined by Rev. Fr. Diego Unay, Rev. Fr. Jarb Balanquit, Rev. Fr. Jose Sumayop Jr., Rev. Fr. Ryan Canale, and Rev. Fr. Eduardo Dorico.

Following dinner, the recollection continued at around 9:00 PM with a candle prayer activity at the quadrangle. Students formed a large circle and lit their candles as a symbol of unity and faith. The prayer was led by Giero Orio, Shanedra Jane Balleta, and Reachelle Maidy Morales, adviser of Barkada Para Kay Kristo.

The evening also featured a series of inspirational talks from invited speakers.

The first speaker, Mr. Ariel M. Ortecio, a former seminarian and active member of the Servants of God Community Charismatic Renewal Movement, spoke on the topic “Knowing Oneself.” He emphasized that understanding oneself is essential in strengthening one’s relationship with God and noted that a lack of self-awareness may lead to emotional struggles such as depression and anxiety.

The second speaker, Dr. Florante V. Aguilor, a member of Familia, catechist, and lay minister, shared reflections on the importance of love, faith, and family, highlighting the role of family in guiding individuals in their spiritual journey.

Meanwhile, Mr. Edd Christian Aleria Dolo, a member of Youth for Christ and holder of a Master of Arts in Education major in Guidance and Counseling, delivered a talk entitled “Christ and My Belief.” He encouraged students to live out their faith through daily actions and choices.

The final speaker, Engr. Alger D. Pajuelas, a civil engineer and active servant in Christian organizations, guided the students in reflecting on the value of friendship, emphasizing that true friends are blessings who help one another grow in faith and life.

To conclude the recollection, Barkada Para Kay Kristo led the praying of the Holy Rosary, followed by an animation segment prepared by the group.

Through moments of prayer, reflection, and shared experiences, the recollection reminded students of the deeper meaning of the Lenten season—renewing one’s faith and strengthening one’s relationship with God while carrying these lessons into everyday life.

Masigla at makulay ang huling araw ng 𝒊𝒌𝒂-76 𝒏𝒂 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒏𝒈 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒔, 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 sa ginanap na Cheerdance Competition. Mula pa lamang sa umaga, abalang-abala na ang mga kalahok sa paghahanda para sa inaabangang patimpalak. Sinimulan ang araw sa isang parada na nilahukan ng mga mag-aaral mula elementarya hanggang kolehiyo, kasama ang mga g**o at iba pang kinatawan ng paaralan.

Binuksan ang programa sa isang taimtim na panalangin na pinangunahan ni Gem Crystal Moreno ng 12-ABM, sinundan ng pag-awit ng Pambansang Awit sa pangunguna ni Gillian Gijad Herrera ng 11-ABM. Pagkatapos ay inawit ang NSC Hymn sa kumpas ni Shanedra Jane Balleta ng 12-GAS.

Nagbigay ng masiglang simula ang kahanga-hangang pagtatanghal ng 𝑫𝒓𝒖𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑳𝒚𝒓𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒑𝒔 ng NSC bilang hudyat ng opisyal na pagbubukas ng kompetisyon.

Sa pangunang mensahe ni 𝑫𝒓. 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒍 𝑰. 𝑳𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒂, binigyang-diin nya na ang bawat hiyaw at galaw ng mga mag-aaral ay sumasalamin sa kanilang dedikasyon at paninindigan bilang kasapi ng paaralan—patunay na ang pagiging isang Northernian ay hindi lamang pangkaraniwang pagkakakilanlan kundi patunay ng natatanging angking talento at kakayahan na kayang makipagsabayan sa kahit anumang larangan.

Bago tuluyang magsimula ang kompetisyon, pinasigla muli ang entablado ng mga mag-aaral mula sa elementarya. Naghatid sila ng saya at aliw sa mga manonood sa pamamagitan ng kanilang nakakatuwang pagtatanghal.

Kasunod nito ay ang makapigil-hiningang pagtatanghal ng mga kalahok mula sekondarya at kolehiyo. Umaalab ang entablado sa bawat galaw at indak ng mga koponan. Umalingawngaw ang palakpakan at hiyawan sa buong paaralan habang ipinapamalas ng bawat grupo ang kanilang pagkakaisa, disiplina, at kahusayan sa sining ng sayaw.

Matapos ang mga pagtatanghal, nagbigay ng pangwakas na mensahe si 𝑮. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒏 𝑶. 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓, (𝑶𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒌𝒂-76 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚). Binati niya ang lahat ng kalahok at binigyang-halaga ang kanilang ipinakitang talento at kakayahan. Aniya, lahat ay panalo sapagkat tunay na ipinakita ng bawat isa ang kanilang pagsisikap at dedikasyon na makapagtanghal ng napakahusay at pambihirang sayaw.

Sa kabuuan, ang Cheerdance Competition ay hindi lamang paligsahan ng sayaw at sigla kundi isang malinaw na pagpapakita ng pagmamahal, pagkakaisa, at pagmamalaki ng bawat mag-aaral sa kanilang paaralan. Isa itong patunay na ang diwa ng pagiging Northernian ay patuloy na nabubuhay sa bawat hakbang at indak ng mga kabataan.

The third day event, 𝑲𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒘, kicked off at exactly 1:30 PM, starting with a prayer led by a Grade 10 student, Princess Rejean Villacortes, followed by the Philippine National Anthem led by a Grade 11 ABM student, Gillian Gijad Herrera, and the Northern Samar Colleges Hymn led by a Grade 12 GAS student, Shanedra Jane Balleta.

The event was hyped and fired up as the emcees, Sean Olinel P. Meno together with Gillian Gijad Herrera, initiated the celebration. A warm and heartfelt welcome message was delivered by our Principal, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒍 𝑰. 𝑳𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒂, followed by the introduction of judges led by 𝑺𝒊𝒓 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒏 𝑶. 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓.

Right after the introduction of judges, the highlights of the event began with the musical competitions: 𝑽𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒐𝒍𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑽𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑫𝒖𝒆𝒕. A fiery and astounding vocal showdown was witnessed and unveiled on stage.

Moving on, Certificates of Appreciation were awarded as tokens to the judges. Promptly after a short preparation, the dance competition took place, with 𝑯𝒊𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒑 getting the ball rolling, followed by 𝑭𝒐𝒍𝒌 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆. The sways and rhythms hooked the crowd in awe and excitement as the contestants executed tip-top and beaut performances on stage.

After the competition, the 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑴𝒂. 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒂 𝑽. 𝑨𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒓𝒆, 𝑱.𝑫., delivered her closing remarks, expressing gratitude and a heartfelt message to the institution and its people.

Truth be told, it was not just about the merit that counts—it is the sweat, stress, and tiredness behind every success and smile. These are the moments we often fail to realize matter the most. Let us remind ourselves that loss does not mean the end; rather, it is a building block toward triumph and victory. We are all victors of our own minds.

Under the scrutinizing and blazing heat, the players of different parties did not fink down at all and even intensified the passion engulfing their will to win.

The Futsal matches were fierce as it lit up cheers and shouts from the audience. The ardent players were skillfully creating tactics against opponents while keeping their defenses. This game did not solely strengthened unity among teammates, it has also exhibit an exemplary camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants.
