Officials from ISUโCauayan Campus, led by Acting Cluster Executive Officer Dr. Marisol Foronda, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Caesar "Jaycee" Dy, City Mayor of Cauayan City, on July 3.
The meeting focused on plans, collaboration opportunities, and potential partnerships between the university and the LGU.
Both parties emphasized aligning efforts to support community development and academic excellence.
Dr. Foronda presented ISU-Cauayan's ongoing programs, including extension services, research, and innovation initiatives that benefit students and local residents.
As part of the discussions, Dr. Arnel Fajardo, Dean of the College of Computing Studies, Information and Communication Technology (CCSICT), introduced the proposed application of artificial intelligence for a dengue early warning system.
The initiative seeks to improve the city's disease monitoring and public health preparedness using data analytics and AI-driven tools.
Food innovation was also highlighted, with the city government expressing willingness to provide funding support for ISU's research and development efforts in food processing and product enhancement.
Mayor Dy recognized the project's value in boosting local agriculture, agribusiness, and job generation
The university and the LGU-Cauayan City also explored opportunities for collaboration on skills training, youth development, and sustainable livelihood programs for Cauayan City and nearby communities.
The visit underscored ISU-Cauayan's commitment to building strong linkages with local stakeholders and contributing to the city's long-term growth and development.
