Stage News: The 1st 2026 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and the official website of Koyoharu Gotouge's "Demon Slayer" announced that the series is getting its new stage play for the Hashira Training Arc to be held in June 2026.

Shogo Sakamoto is returning to reprise his role since he played the role in the Entertainment District and Sworsmith Village arcs, with Fu Takahashi joining in for the role of Tanjiro Kamado. Tsuneyasu Motoyoshi is returning to direct and write for the new stage play, together with Shunsuke Wada is also returning to compose the music, and Gotouge is supervising the series.

The Hashira Training Arc is the 10th story arc of the series. The story centers on Tanjiro Kamado as he joins the training together with the Demon Slayers to prepare for an upcoming war against Muzan Kibutsuji after Nezuko Kamado develops the ability to conquer the sun. Tanjiro, along with Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira, is pushing their limits for their training while Muzan is searching for Nezuko as she looms closer to gaining new powers.

The original story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a kind-hearted boy, together with his sister, Nezuko Kamado, who becomes a demon, as they set out on a journey to become a Demon Slayer, an elite swordsman trained to hunt demons, and searching for a way to turn Nezuko back into a human.

The series was published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2016 to May 2020, and released in 23 book volumes. Viz Media acquired the series, released in English in July 2018. It is considered one of the best-selling manga series, where the series received critical acclaim for its art, storyline, action scenes, and characters, becoming one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time.

News: The Head of the Wright Staff, Hiroaki Adachi, announced on the official X page that the author of "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes" and "The Heroic Legend of Arslan", Yoshiki Tanaka, has suffered a debilitating cerebral hemorrhage, which is a life-threatening medical emergency caused by bleeding in or around the brain, in November 2024.

On Saturday, November 30th, 2024, the author collapsed and rushed to the nearest hospital. The author has been focusing on rehabilitation since moving into a nursing facility sometime before this past summer.

According to Adachi, Tanaka had collapsed at a convenience store near his office, so a store worker quickly called emergency services. He credited Tanaka's survival to the fortunate coincidence that his collapse occurred at the store with other people around, rather than at his office when he was alone on a Saturday. However, the hemorrhage left him with damage to his brain that affected his motor functions.

His longtime office was not designed to accommodate people with disabilities, and he and his staff were forced to clear out his library of tens of thousands of publications and move out of that office.

Nevertheless, Adachi reports that Tanaka has not lost the creative will; he still wanted to write more and continues to do so in composition notebooks. Adachi asked Tanaka's fans for their patience and understanding. His activities include releasing new works or attending events and sessions. He's still striving hard for his eventual return.

Tanaka is known as the author of "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes" and "The Heroic Legend of Arslan".

Anime News: The official website of Tomytec's "Railway Girls" or "Tetsudo Musume" announced that they are producing a new anime series titled "Tetsuryo: Meet with the Railway Girls" to be streamed in 2026.

The cast for the anime series includes May Tachibana as Misaki Sata, a freshman university student who began to learn about railways at a leisurely pace through club activities. Mao Shoji as Kodama Orihara, a third-year university student and the president of the railway club, who is usually a reliable big sister figure. Haruna Fukushima as Ushio Yagami, a third-year university student who becomes a talented content video creator who posts on trains, bento boxes, and local gourmet food. Hika Tsukishiro as Usa Harutachi, a second-year university student who acts as a quiet girl and loves retro and cute things.

Misuzu Hoshino is directing the anime at the animation studio East Fish Studio, and Tomytec and Kisetsu Morita are the creators of the series. Together with Aya Satsuki is writing the scripts, and Hisanori Hashimoto is designing the characters.

"Railway Girls" or "Tetsudo Musume" was created by Tomytec, a subsidiary of Takara Tomy, in November 2005, which focuses on a collection of female characters who work at various real-world railway networks across Japan. Each character has a name based on a real-life train station or a railroad's characteristics, and each is depicted wearing their respective railway network's uniforms.

It was adapted into an audio drama, a novel written by Koichi Muraki and illustrations by Natsuki Mibu published in Gakken in March 2007, a manga adaptation, "Terminal Memory" drawn by Matsuda98 in ASCII Media Works's Dengeki Daioh magazine from June 2008 to February 2009, a video game series, released for the Nintendo DS in October 2008, and a 13-episode live-action series in October 2008.

Music News: The official website of Fujiko Fujio's "Doraemon" announces the theme songs for the upcoming "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil" to be released in Japanese theaters on Friday, February 27th, 2026.

Sumika, consisting of Kenta Kataoka on lead vocals and guitar, Takayuki Ogawa on keyboard and chorus vocals, and Tomoyuki Arai on drums, performs the theme song, "Truth".

The animated film centers on Nobita Nobi, who dreams of going on a fun adventure until they accidentally uncovers a hidden city at the ocean’s depths. This city belongs to an ancient underwater civilization that has long observed the surface world.

The people of this civilization have advanced technology and a belief that humankind on the surface is a threat to the Earth due to pollution and war. Because of this, they plan to eradicate humanity to protect the planet.

The children, initially excited by their discovery, are soon caught up in the conflict. They’re captured by the undersea people and learn about the plan to destroy the human world. Doraemon and Nobita’s group must figure out how to stop this catastrophe.

The anime series centers on a titular character, a blue, earless robotic cat from the 22nd century who travels back in time to help Nobita Nobi, a clumsy, unlucky, and academically poor kid. Doraemon's mission is to improve Nobita's life so his descendants in the future can live better.

News: The official website of M-Flo announced that they will not be putting out any new work or performing live events after the live performance and the release of the final album in February 2026. The group is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

According to the group, they will not be active publicly for some time to search for new sounds, new encounters, and new inspirations to prepare themselves for the next stage ahead.

The group will release their final album, "Supertiminal", to be released on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, and their final live performance will be held at the Tokyo Garden Theater on Thursday, February 19th, 2026.

M-Flo is a Japanese hip-hop and electronic music group consisting of Taku Takahashi, Verbal, and Lisa. They formed in 1998 for their long-running M-Flo loves collaboration project featuring many guest vocalists. Their music is known for futuristic production, club influences, and smooth rap and vocal interplay.

In 2002, Lisa announced that she had left the group to focus on her solo career while the remaining members, Takahashi and Verbal, continued as a duo group to launch the project, which featured collaborations with different artists such as Crystal Kay, Boa, and Namie Amuro. She rejoined the group for renewed projects in 2017.

Anime News: The official website of Atsushi Ohkubo's "Fire Force" has announced the details, including new cast members and theme songs, for the 2nd part of the 3rd and final season, which airs on Crunchyroll as part of the winter 2026 anime season on Friday, January 9, 2026.

The additional cast for the 2nd part of the 3rd season is Hochu Otsuka as Hibachi Shinmon, a former Fire Chief of the Asakusa firefighters and the predecessor of the Special Fire Force Company 7, who is very strict. Still, he showed signs of tough love to those he cared for, especially for everyone in Asakusa.

He'll join Gakuto Kajiwara as Shinra Kusakabe, a young firefighter with the power to ignite his feet at will, earning him the nickname Devil's Footprints. Despite being misunderstood and feared due to his unnerving smile and powers, Shinra joins Special Fire Force Company 8, hoping to become a hero and uncover the truth behind the fire that killed his mother and supposedly his younger brother.

Takanori Nishikawa is performing the OP theme song "Ignis", and he previously performed the OP theme song of Ohkubo's work, "Soul Eater". Survive Said the Prophet or SSTP consists of Yoshiya "Yosh" Morita on clean vocals, Tatsuya "Tatsuya" Kato on guitar, and Sho "Show" Okada on drums and unclean vocals, performing the ED theme song, "Speak of the Devil".

The 3rd and final season centers on Shinra Kusakabe and the members of the Special Fire Force Company 8 as they become outlaws while trying to stop the White Clad's plan for a second Great Cataclysm. Shinra continues to refine his powers and uncover the secrets behind the Pillars and the cataclysm.

The new season is available in selected countries, including the Americas, including North, Central, and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and Asia, excluding Japan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia.
