“GUSTO KO SANA BUMALIK SA CHURCH… PERO NAHIHIYA NA AKO ANG TAGAL KONG NAWALA!”
Guilt tells you, "it’s too late.” And the enemy adds, "People will judge you.” But none of these voices come from God.
Because while you were away, no matter how long, He never closed the door. You may have drifted, but God never distanced Himself from you. Just like the father in the story of the prodigal son, He is not waiting with anger; He’s waiting with compassion.
Luke 15:20 KJV
"...But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him."
Your absence did not cancel your identity. You are still His child. Your calling is still yours. God didn’t delete your purpose simply because you struggled or failed.
Romans 11:29 KJV
"For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance."
And the truth is—you don’t need to fix your life before returning. You don’t need perfect behavior, a spotless record, or a flawless heart. What God asks for is not perfection but honesty. A heart willing to say, “Lord, I’m coming home.”
James 4:8 KJV
"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you."
The Church is not meant to be a place for perfect people; it’s a home for the wounded and the returning. If anyone looks at you with judgment, remember: their opinion is not God’s voice. You are not coming back for people, you are coming back for Him.
And if you think your distance disqualifies you, Jesus Himself proves the opposite. He came specifically for those who feel far, lost, and unworthy.
Luke 19:10 KJV
"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."
So how do you come back after being away for so long?
You simply take one step toward home. Even if it’s shaky. Even if it’s painful. Even if it’s messy.
Because God is not asking, “Where have you been?”
He is whispering, "Come back. I never stopped waiting for you.”
No distance is too far.
No time is too long.
And no story is too broken for the God who restores.
Come home. The Father’s arms are still open.
Glory to God 🙌🏻
