From Gold to Glory: Aloysian Athletes Conquer Municipal Meet 2025

The Sisters of Mary School – Adlas, Inc. proudly showcased its athletic excellence in the Municipal Meet 2025 held on September 11–12, 2025 at the Sisters of Mary School – Banneux, Inc., the Silang Badminton Center, and Bulihan Integrated National High School. With exceptional performances across different sporting events, the school amassed a total of 15 Gold, 12 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals, once again proving the Aloysian spirit of discipline, determination, and excellence.

In Athletics, the team’s dominance was felt across sprint, hurdles, throws, jumps, and walkathon events, with medalists in every category securing their spots in the Division Meet. This success was made possible through the expert guidance of coaches Mr. Rodolfo Jr. B. Binasbas and Mr. Justine Embile, whose commitment to training and motivation inspired the athletes to perform at their very best.

Team sports also brought glory to the school. Under the sharp strategies of coaches Mr. Aldoune Jude Añar and Mr. Regin Ian Llamoso, the Football team delivered a strong performance that led them to victory, while the Sepak Takraw team, mentored by Mr. John Kenneth Ocfemia, displayed unmatched teamwork and skill that earned them a place in the East Cavite Sports Unit (ECSU) advanced games for the Division Meet.

The school also celebrated triumphs in individual events. The Badminton team, led by Mr. Aaron James Rondina, secured top finishes, while the Table Tennis players, trained under Ms. Micaela Alegra, brought home Gold medals and a ticket to the next round. In Taekwondo, the strength and discipline instilled by Mr. Mark Josua Roma translated into winning performances, and in Chess, the brilliance of Begino, coached by Mr. Dindo Perez, secured a Silver medal that qualified him for the Division Meet.

Not to be outdone, the Volleyball teams, under the dedicated mentorship of Mr. Emilcent Louie Lara and Mr. John Alfred L. Daño, displayed remarkable grit and teamwork throughout the tournament, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship that the Municipal Meet promotes.

The victories of the Sisters of Mary School – Adlas, Inc. in this year’s Municipal Meet not only highlight the athletes’ talent and perseverance but also stand as a tribute to the tireless commitment of their coaches. Together, they have carried the school banner with pride, paving the way for greater challenges and brighter triumphs at the Division Meet.

SMS–Adlas Triumphs with 10 Wins in CPAPS Journalism Contest 2025

Adlas, Silang, Cavite — The Sisters of Mary School–Adlas once again proved its excellence in the field of campus journalism as it proudly brought home a total of ten wins from the prestigious CPAPS Journalism Contest 2025, held on August 30, 2025, at Holy Nazarene Christian School in Tanza, Cavite.

The competition gathered more than 40 private schools from across the province, with over 50 participants in each category. With its wide reach and high level of participation, the contest remains one of the most competitive and anticipated journalism events in Cavite. Participants competed in various categories, both in English and Filipino, showcasing their skills in news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, sports writing, and other journalistic disciplines.

Despite the tough competition, the young journalists of SMS–Adlas rose to the challenge and delivered impressive performances in multiple categories. Leading the group were Raen Terrenz Domingo of Grade 11, who clinched First Place in Copyreading (English), and Mark Sanguan, also from Grade 11, who earned First Place in Mobile Journalism (Filipino). These top finishes were a proud moment for the school, highlighting the talent and precision of its student writers.

Adding to the medal tally, Zairus Jhon Ruedas from Grade 10 secured Third Place in Column Writing (English). Meanwhile, Carl Juzpher Obsum (Grade 10), Tristan James Arabe (Grade 10), and Domingo Guipe (Grade 11) all placed Fifth in Editorial Writing (English), News Writing (Filipino), and Editorial Cartooning (English), respectively. Joshua Ciudadano of Grade 10 also made it to the top ranks, finishing Sixth in Column Writing (Filipino).

In the science and visual categories, Steven Garcenila, a Grade 9 student, achieved Tenth Place in Science and Health Writing, while Gherald Anderzen Dalang of Grade 10 took Eighteenth Place in Photojournalism (English). Lastly, Roland David Bargo of Grade 11 secured Nineteenth Place in Feature Writing (English).

This string of achievements reflects not only the students' dedication and journalistic skill but also the unwavering support and expert guidance of their coaches and Directional Advisers, Ms. Carliejane Caraga and Ms. Blescie Balinado. Their commitment to mentoring and preparing the students played a crucial role in this success. The school community extends its heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to both advisers for their tireless efforts in leading and inspiring the SMS–Adlas journalism team.

This drill serves as a preparation for next week’s final drill, which will be conducted in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection – Silang, Cavite. 👨‍🚒🔥
