I'm one of the firsts to have this scooter. Let me share my observations after 3 and a half years.
1. A long time ago, the odometer stopped working. And I did not care. So I was using using it without a speedometer / odometer. After thousands of kilometers, we found out that the sensor was just dirty and needed cleaning. Must be all that offroading the scooter wen through. After years of not using it, the odometer worked again. It's ay 18k. But basing on usage, it must be more than 50k. Almost daily use, camping, grocery runs, long rides.
2. The battery just died. As in yesterday. It's a good run after more than 3 years of riding it without any problems.
3. I have it serviced at Michael Motoworx in Caloocan, the cvt and other parts are dirty. I said to him, I'm no mechanic, I just know how to use and abuse the bike. Surprisingly after a much needed service, the bike felt smooth again, as if the first time I twisted it's throttle. Runs so good.
3. After so many rough riding, yes I bring it to where roads are non existent. I'm surprised that the suspension still decent. Front and back, no leaks, still serve their purpose.
4. Never had a breakdown or any roadside repairs, as far as I can think of.
5. Engine still stock, but I had to replace the flyballs. Once.
6. Oil change, rarely. In spite of having access to lubricants, I just can't find the time to change the oil as often as it should be. If I have to guess, I change at more than 2k kilometers. So far so good. Sometimes 4k or even more. But I make sure to put decent lubilricant in when needed.
7. No other accessories but the rear box and slightly elevated windscreen. The box weighed a little heavy, but sturdy, and can act as a table when I'm out camping. The windscreen bracket doesn't do it's intended purpose, in fact the reverse. More wind passes through the small opening. I may have to uninstall or find a better windscreen.
8. The scooter has a few scrapes here and there. But nothing wild. Still decently looking after all these years of abuse.
9. Been a big fan of bigger and wider rear tire since the start. Because of this, I had to remove the rear tire hugger. A little bit slower but performs well all in all.
10. After 3 and a half years, I'm still happy and satisfied with its performance. It's still my go-to bike for long rides, camping, and palengke chores.
11. I have several bikes in my garage, for some reason, this is the cats favorite scratching post. This may be my 7th seat cover installed. No, I don't punish them for that. It's their nature, always my fault for forgetting to cover the seat with something.
Cheers to all Burgman users.
