Forgiveness has always been a struggle for some of us. It hurts to let go when someone wounds us, especially when they don’t even realize or careabout the pain they’ve caused. But please be reminded of this truth: keep loving difficult people, remembering that often times you are difficult to love too.
I pray that this thought stops you from your tracks. Because sometimes we’ve been difficult to love. we’ve been impatient, prideful, and careless with others. And yet, Jesus forgave us. Not just once, but again and again every single day.
Forgiveness doesn’t erase what happened. It doesn’t mean the pain was small. It simply means we refuse to let bitterness control us. It means placing the weight in Jesus’ hands and trusting Him to heal what we cannot. And in surrendering our pain, we find that forgiveness doesn’t just set others free, it sets us free too, God constantly reminds us to forgive and let go because He wants us fix and whole.
So this week, let’s remember: forgiveness isn’t only about what others have done to us, it’s about what Christ has already done for us. Since we’ve been forgiven much, we can extend that same grace even to difficult people.
I know forgiveness isn’t easy. But think about this: how many times have we been difficult to love? How many times have we done things that felt unforgivable? And still Jesus forgave us. My prayer is that you’ll find strength in His love to keep forgiving and keep loving too.
