When leaders forget who they serve, the people must remember the power they hold. People power is not just a moment in history—it is a living right, a force that reminds us where true authority lies: in the citizens, in the raging heart of the Filipino people.
Along with the 53rd anniversary of Martial Law begins another remarkable revolution for justice. Filipinos from different parts of the country took to the streets to express their anger and grief against the corruption that has devastated countless lives. Holding placards that echoed their cries, they raised their voices for justice, forcing the government to witness the outburst that had been suppressed for far too long.
From students to vendors, children to adults—size, age, and social status did not matter. All stood in unity, bound by one goal— to repudiate those who abused their power, the thieves who stole what rightfully belongs to the Filipino people. Corruption has lingered for generations and has been dangerously normalized; yet the time has come for Filipinos to demand real change and genuine justice.
The first day of protest may have ended, but the burning hearts of every Filipino will continue to ignite until every stolen peso is returned to the taong-bayan. History may have repeated itself—the same streets, the same date, the same outcries—but Filipinos refuse to let injustice pass once more. With every step, they carry the hearts of the oppressed; with every shout, they voice the pleas of a nation whose future has been mercilessly robbed.
The call is clear, corruption must end, and it must end now. For as long as greed holds power, the Filipino people will rise, united, unyielding, and unstoppable—until a just and honest Philippines finally prevails.
