WATCH: A Ceres bus caught fire while traveling along the road in Barangay Dakit, Barili, Cebu, on Friday, September 26.

In a video posted by Jay-r Letrondro, the bus was already covered in flames, but all passengers had safely evacuated before the fire spread further.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Class Suspension due to Typhoon Opong

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 11, series of 2025, and upon the recommendation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) in light of the expected heavy rains and strong winds brought by Typhoon Opong, classes in all levels, both public and private, in Cebu City are hereby suspended on September 26, 2025.

The safety and welfare of our learners, teachers, and school personnel remain our top priority. We enjoin everyone to remain indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay updated through official government advisories.

Let us all be vigilant and continue to pray for the safety of our communities.

READ | Malacañang has issued Memorandum Circular 96 suspending work in executive branch offices on Septemper 22, 2025 (Monday), starting 1 p.m. in observance of the “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day.

This is in line with Proclamation No. 326 (2012) declaring the last week of September as Family Week and every fourth Monday of September as “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day.
