Kent Francisco Jongoy, Assistant Head of the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO), tackled pressing concerns on urban mobility and road safety in Cebu City. He outlined the ongoing initiatives of the CCTO to address traffic congestion, including improved traffic management systems, stricter enforcement of road regulations, and partnerships with various stakeholders to promote discipline among motorists and pedestrians. Atty. Jongoy emphasized the agency’s commitment to creating a safer, more efficient transportation environment as Cebu continues to grow.
Joining him was Concepcion Solera, Regional Head of the Alternative Child Care Office 7, who shed light on the programs and services offered for vulnerable children in Central Visayas. Ms. Solera discussed the efforts of their office in facilitating legal adoption, foster care, and other alternative parental arrangements to ensure that abandoned, neglected, and orphaned children are provided with loving, supportive families. She also highlighted the importance of community involvement and collaboration with local government units, non-government organizations, and advocacy groups in strengthening the child welfare system.
