HOW TO PREPARE FOR DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY?

Going to Confession is not the only way we should prepare ourselves for Divine Mercy Sunday.

As Cardinal Francis Macharski, Archbishop of Cracow, Poland, explains in a 1985 pastoral letter, we are not simply called to ask for God's mercy
with trust. We are also called to be merciful:

"Our own merciful attitude is likewise
a preparation. Without deeds of mercy. our devotion would not be real. For Christ does not only reveal the mercy of God, but at the same time He places before people the demand that they conduct themselves in life with love and mercy. The Holy Father states that this requirement constitutes the very heart of the Gospel ethos (Rich in Mercy, 3)- it is the commandment of love and the promise: 'Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy' (Mt 5:7). Let it be a mercy that is forgiving and true, and universal, with good words, deeds,
and prayer for others!"

Our Lord's words to St. Faustina about this requirement to be merciful are very strong and leave no room for misinterpretation:

Thus, to fittingly observe the Feast of Mercy, we should:

1. Celebrate the Feast on the Sunday after Easter;
2. Sincerely repent for all our sins;
3. Place our complete trust in Jesus;
4. Go to Confession, preferably before that Sunday;
5. Receive Holy Communion on the day of the Feast;
6. Venerate the Image of The Divine Mercy;
7. Be merciful to others, through our actions, words, and prayers on their behalf.

*To venerate a sacred image or statue simply means to perform some act or make some gesture of deep religious respect toward it because of the person whom it represents in this case, our Most Merciful Savior.

Yesterday, I witnessed something incredibly powerful in this adoration chapel .๐Ÿ”ฅ Two years prior, my friend had undergone a solemn exorcism. I invited her yesterday to the adoration chapel , and we prayed together in front of the Blessed Sacrament . I was leading her with prayer. As she repeated the prayers of consecration to Jesus and Mary, she reacted. I had her repeat the prayers again. And then, her voice changed, becoming deeper and more intense. I asked her to look at the Blessed Sacrament and to ask Jesus for freedom. The words that came from her were different, not in our language but sounded like Latin (or something) . But the tone was filled with anger and hatred directed at the consecrated host.

When she looked at me, I held up my cross and said, Ecce Crucem Domini (Behold the Cross of the Lord) Fugite partes adversae(Flee, ye adversaries!) Vicit Leo de Tribu Juda, Radix David, alleluia (The Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, alleluia!). This angered her further, so I began interceding for her called Mother Mary and St. Michael the Archangel. The rest is history . She calmed down eventually.

Bottom line: Jesus is risen, and His presence in the Blessed Sacrament is real, even though we cannot see Him with our physical eyes. This reality, this burning light of grace, is what enraged the demonic presence. We must not fear the enemy, who is already defeated. Yes, they may manifest with loud, angry voices and frightening stares, but we must fix our eyes on Jesus' victory and his resurrection. Even demons are enraged by this unwavering faith. I'm sharing this to encourage anyone who is afraid of the enemy and those who don't believe he exists. Do you know that the enemy's primary goal is to make everyone believe that he is not real? Remember, Jesus is risen. We are victorious in Christ our Lord. Let us never doubt the power and the very real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist; it is a weapon against darkness that we can wield in faith. His victory is our victory. Let his unwavering love embolden and strengthen our faith.๐Ÿ’ช

Serving God and loving God are not the same. You can perform acts of service, going through the motions of worship, but without the fire of love in your heart, your actions are hollow. Love for God, however, cannot exist without intimate knowledge of Himโ€”a deep, abiding relationship forged in prayer, contemplation, and submission to His will, even in trials and persecutions. Therefore, let your service flow from this intimate knowledge of God! Otherwise, your efforts, however devout, become a vain display of self, a desperate grasping for glory that belongs only to Him. Let us strive for a love that transcends mere actionโ€”a love that transforms our very being, a service of holiness, not of arrogance. For God gives grace to the lowly, but resists the proud.

This is what Catholics believe about intercession.

We do not worship Mary. โ€“ We love Mary. We honor Mary. We respect Mary. We learn from Mary. We take joy in Mary. And we ask for her powerful intercession.

We do not worship the saints. - We love the saints. We honor saints. We respect the saints. We learn from saints. We take joy in saints. And we ask for their powerful intercession.

Just as other Christians believes ask for the intercession of their friends on earth โ€“ we ask for the intercession of our friends in Heaven. Simple as that.

So next time, instead of saying, โ€œCatholics worship Maryโ€ try saying โ€œI donโ€™t understand Catholic theology.โ€ We are one body in Christ, the Saints on Earth and in Heaven.

May we do all things for the greater glory of God and the good of His people. โค๏ธ Carry on.

Let us all bring our separated brethren back to the Catholic fold.
