WALA’Y KLASE SA TALISAY

Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas has announced the suspension of all face-to-face classes in elementary and high school levels, following persistent heavy rains that have caused flooding in some areas of the city on Monday, August 18, 2025.

After consultations with City Disaster Risk Reduction Officer Alvin Santillana and DepEd District Superintendent Dr. Arden Monisit, the city has decided to shift to blended learning to ensure the safety of students and school personnel.

“This decision is in the best interest of our children’s safety as we continue to monitor the situation in our barangays,” said Gullas.

For private schools, class suspensions will be at the discretion of the respective school presidents.

For Talisay City College, the decision will rest with its President, Dr. Ritchel Bacaltos.

Dr. Monisit has earlier authorized school heads to suspend classes as needed, with student and teacher safety as the top priority.
